Greg has finally found a building for racing this fall. Located directly to the left of Craftworld and Action Hobbies is where the track will be located. This will be a lot nicer than year past for 2 main reasons. 1.) The track will be located right next to the hobby shop, so parts will be readily available. and 2.) the track will not have to be packed up and moved out of the way. It should be a permanent track. Details are still being worked out, and Greg and the crew still has a lot of work ahead of them. Just wanted to get to word out before people made plans to go elsewhere. Thanks!

How's access going to be? One of the main reasons I didn't go up to the other track more was because of my "wheeled" nature limited how I could get in and no restroom.

I personally haven't been to the site of the new location, but my dad has, and from talking to him this is what I understand: There is a large city parkling lot right across the street, so parking should not be an issue, there is plenty of flourescent lighting, plenty of electrical (But greg might be calling an electrician to come in and add some more outlets just in case), there is a large garage type door where people will be able to drive up, unload their stuff, and go park, pits should be large enough to house 100 people plus, 2 bathrooms, and everything is on one level. Now I am not 100% sure of handicaped access, but with the large overhead door I am sure we could figure something out.

Dale, Not sure exactly where you're at in ohio, so this might be a long way, but this is how my dad and I go to Akron. Take 79 North to 90, 90 east to I86 East (Jamestown Exit), follow 86 to the Jamestown exit (Approx 35 mins), take a right off the off ramp. Follow that Street untill you get to 3rd street. Take a right on third street, and the track will be about 3 blocks down on the right hand side. They will be posting updates with directions on the Craft World site. www.cwactionhobbies.com (http://www.cwactionhobbies.com/). Thanks!

Thanks for the direction info. That would be a good way for me to come up. Might make the drive up sometime this fall to run some EDM's.

Thanks again,
Dale

Once they have the go ahead from the inspector, Greg is going to have a couple of work nights organized. I will let everybody know the dates as they come available. Thanks and looking forward to seeing everyone soon!

Hey Jeff or Bob, I assume it will be a little smaller than last years track????

From what I am gathering about 20' shorter, but I am not sure if it will be able to be wider or not. Might not be such a bad thing, but I guess we will see.

Hey Jeff, Bob......What do you guys think about a brushless class..I have run it a few times and really think it would go well at Jamestown. The Novak 4300 series is as fast as 19turn. I think if you told the locals that for 300$ or less they could run all year and then some they would go for it..Think about it, you buy 10 stock motors a season for $40 bucks each---=400$ plus brushes--- another 30-40$ a season or one brushless system..Hmmm Im done with 19turn.Its sooooo nice to bolt the motor in and just work on the car.....No motor work at all!!!!.. Jeff
Another thing is at the nationals this summer we (me and Andy) dyno'ed 10 brushless motors, all were 82 watts with 22,000rpm....very equal for everyone.

Carpy, not so sure. I'm not ready to jump on the brushless bandwagon yet. I don't really have the money to go out and buy a new brushless system right now anyways. Maybe a little later in the year I'll look at it, or put it on the christmas list so my wife knows what to buy me, but right now my christmas list is:

Sabres Tickets
New KSG
Brushless system

In that order, lol.

Last weekend was the first race. I didnt run but I did stop by for a few laps in a couple loaner cars.
The track is pretty bumpy, from being rolled up all summer. I think alot of the bumps will fade away soon.
The track is ALOT smaller than befor, Im guessing about 130 raceline.Kinda small, but good for stock and 19 turn..OR BRUSHLESS..HINT HINT..anyone???
There was about 50 entries, alot of trucks, but Im sure the pan car crew will grow back up. As you know the track is in a different building, if you need some help ask Patch, he knows the town the best...Carpy

Have you guys been running any road course racing?

JeffPatch29
11-20-2006, 02:10 PM
the first night the ran a "Road Course" but since then all the touring cars are just running the oval.

How many up there have 12th scale's setup for road course? Is the track technical?

JeffPatch29
11-20-2006, 05:01 PM
there really isn't any 12th scales, and the road course consists of 3-4 5 gallon buckets thrown down on one of the straights that you have to drive around. I used to race touring cars and it's nothing like what a road course should be, and the last time I talked to Greg he wasn't in any hurry to put a real road course in.

For those who miss racing today at Jamestown, consider racing tomorrow at Racers Edge RC (http://www.racersedgerc.com) in Smethport, PA. Hope to see you there.
