A pic of a 1958 Cadillac Fleetwood 75 Limousine in Midnight Blue made by U.S.A. Models. My pic doesn't do this model justice. It's a beauty! The chrome trim trim around the windows is metal.

I took another pic to show the car from a different angle.

I like this car very much!
One thing that has surprised me with some of the more expensive 1/43 diecast cars (Brooklin, etc.) is that, like this car, much of the chrome trim isn't. Example: hood and fender emblems, side spears, that sort of thing.
Is it that these companies won't use tampo machines?

Brooklin doesn't use tampos that much. Brooklin paints over the chrome trim the same color of the car. The early Brooklins didn't have mirrors, hood ornaments, etc. The later Brooklins came with diecast mirrors, hood ornaments, etc. While the mirrors, hood ornaments are more realistic, they are easy to loose being so small.
There are no plastic parts on a Brooklin, Durham,Conquest, U.S.A. Models, and a few other makers. Everything is diecast except the windows and the rubber tires (even the hubcaps are diecast).
Here's an example of an earlier Brooklin with chrome foil on the chrome trim that was sent out by a dealer and signed by the person who did it. I have the same car without the chrome foil, but I can't remember where I put it so I could do a comparision for you.
