Very easy project! I purchase two of the Challengers (one orange and on blue) from Wally World for 9.98 each and easily modified with a side guide. The r/c electronics can be removed along with the front motor that directs the front wheels to go left or right. Also removed the white alignment adjuster and drilled a hole in front of this one for the wires. Glued the white linkage bar to the chassis so the front wheels stay straight. Hardwire the slide guide to the motor, use scrap plastic to shim the guide lower and presto one fast car. Front end does need weight or a magnet. Would definately run faster with silicone tires.
