The American LeMans race is on the weekend at Mosport, Bowmanville, Ontario. I live 15 minutes away. I popped up to see what teams where there. It would be nice if these in diecast.

Aston Martin has a couple of cars entered.

Panoz Esperantes are back again this year.

If you are not into ALMS. Heres a couple of pics that might interest you.
The first pic is my daily driver. I know, I know what you are thinking....What is he doing parking in the handicap spot!

Nice pictures. The Panoz Esperantes looks a little like a RX-7 in that picture.

Took a couple of more pics today. next couple of days are suppose to be nice, then rain on the weekend....NOOOOOOOO!

More haulers arrived today. They pulled out the #4 Corvette of Gavin/Beretta. The Fellows/O'Connell Vette was still in the hauler.

RCI-Action has done Corvettes since 1999. Auto Art has done the Corvettes in 1/18 scale. I believe I have seen 2004 Aston Martins in 1/43 scale. The Cadillac has been done by auto art in 1/18 scale. Older Dyson cars (Riley and Scott) have been done by Spark models in 1/43. Porsche 911 gt3/ gt2 P996's etc have been done for years by Mini-Champs.

Some more pics. This is Johnny O'Connell signing my 1/18 Panoz Esperante, a car he said was "sick fast". He spent 20 minutes talking to my wife and I about driving that car back in 1998.

The #3 Vette.

Ron Fellows Cadillac CTS.

And a pic of Ron Fellows and myself after he just finished testing his CTS. He was good enough to sign my 1/12 GMP GM Goodwrench Corvette, a car he said he didn't have.

I can tell you all these drivers are great. I have been walking around the garage area and all the drivers are so friendly and will stop and talk.

I'm surprised the Saleen S7 and Dodge Viper hasn't shown up yest, maybe tomorrow. I'll post pics if I can.

I have my tickets for Petit Le mans at the end of this month. I have the DBR9 and the C6R as well as the Porsche RS Spyder in 1/18 scale with the Audi R8 on the way. ALMS rocks.....

Cool, a post about road racers. I have been campaigning for tha AM for years now, maybe hotwheels will do one. GMP does an excellent version of the C5R in 1/64. HW has done nice versions of the Panoz prototypes, so the esperante may get done. I love the cadillac from the speed GT series. These cars don't do as well as the muscle cars at this scale, there aren't enough of us, gotta go to 1/43 or bigger. Remember Hotwheels Hall of Fame series, they did quite a few authentic road racers, so the question becomes how high will you go for a nciely done 1/64 racing model?

WOW. WHAT A DAY! I have to thank Robin Pratt for being a very friendly and caring person. Check out the web site. www.prattmiller.com

The hauler is a GMP 1/64 scale. I had the drivers, Engineers, Pit crew, and Mechanics sign the hauler and the box. I was also able to get pics of everybody signing. The car in the middle is a 1/18 GMP 1995 AER Camaro that Ron Fellows drove (and signed). I also met and had my pic taken with Andy Pilgram. I'm bringing my 1/18 Action Corvette he drove with the Earnhardts in to be signed tomorrow.

I see the Auto Art has made a 1/18 Aston Martin. The doors and engine hood DO NOT open. Apparently, AA didn't want to delay the release of these diecast, so they closed the car, which I feel is a shame since they did such a nice job on the body.

LOL Stang69, thank you. Here are a couple of more pics. It rained Saturday...HARD, qualifying was rained out, practice was held with some cars leaving the track. It rained Sunday morning before the race then the track dried quickly.

Andy Pilgram signing my corvette.
http://photos.hobbytalk.com/data/508/cropped_Andy_Pilgram_signing_Vette.JPG

Here was the winner of the GT1 class. The Aston Martins were a second faster per lap on a dry track but 0.5 seconds slower on wet. The Corvettes had an added 90 Kg (198 lbs) added to the cars plus had smaller intakes as deemed necessary by the rules....you get penalized for winning too much.

Even though the track was dry, this is what happens when a BMW, Lola EX257 and Panoz Esperante come together.

The Lola actually drove back to the pits with this damage!

Hope you enjoyed. My wife and I had a great time. Next time I think we won't sit out in shorts and t-shirts in the pouring rain, we'll bring ball caps next time....lol.
