At the boot sale today I stumbled upon a very large bag of late 60's Hotwheels track. I saw the original box with the Power Pak in it and immediately snapped it up, thinking I was going to get lots of track and maybe, just maybe there would be a Sizzler in there too. Oh how wrong I was! This is what I found in the bag:

I just couldn't believe my eyes, when I pulled back a section of cardboard wrapped around the original box, I sweared profusely as I was in shock and awe for a couple of minutes, trying to digest what I had just bought. I still can't quite believe it! The only thing absent from it is the button, which is a shame, but EVERYTHING is still there, even down to the original rubber bands which haven't perished at all!

The other things in the large bag:

Assorted track, a lot of it!

And how much did you pay for it, I hear you asking? £1.50 for the whole lot, yes, 150 English pennies!

Thanks you all! I've hed various values put on the Pick up alone, and it's worth between $600 and $1000  Considering I paid basically less than 50p for it, the profit margin is immense! Not that I plan to sell it anytime soon though, it's just too pretty!

I don't think I'll be holding another Diecast worth several hundred dollars in a long time!

I think I would love to live in your region - lots of estate sale/boot sales and very few collectors (apparently)

In that condition, yes, but there were a lot of them produced in Pink, most of them were played with, a played with model will go for less then $50, but a mint one is priceless.

Very nice find! Yeah...the track stuff is real cool and the Power Pit can be used to recharge the new Sizzlers (so I'm told) ... BUT THAT MINT PINK SKYSHOW ROCKS! I'm not sure...but I don't ever recall seeing a Skyshow Collector button...so I'd say the set looks complete!

I'm not sure either, but in the instructions for it it has a list of what's included and it says '1 Matching Collectors button', but it may just be for a normal Fleetside

Very cool stuff, but what exactly is a boot sale? Another name for a Yard Sale/Tag Sale???

It's a British form of flea market, where people sell stuff from the boot (trunk) of their cars.

And in England, if they sell from the hood of their car, it's called a "Bonnet Sale".

What if it is a VW Bug and the Engine is in the back and the trunk in the front?  Oh the humanity!  LOL
