View Full Version : Sir Connery Speaks His Mind Zorro 08-27-2006, 11:09 AM http://www.timesonline.co.uk/article/0,,2-2329710,00.html PhilipMarlowe 08-27-2006, 11:24 AM Why am I reminded of SNL's "Celebrity Jeopardy" sketch? "I'll take "the penis mightier than the sword" for 200, Alex" scotpens 08-27-2006, 02:44 PM Remember when said he would make no more Bond films after You Only Live Twice? And technically it's "Sir Sean" — not that it really matters. Knighthoods come pretty cheap these days! PerfesserCoffee 08-28-2006, 07:50 AM I thought it was Shir Sean--at least the way Connery pronounces it. I think he has a lot of very good points in his arguments. Hollywood now is not the Hollywood of yesteryear. It's no wonder that many TV shows and theatrical movies are being made everywhere but Hollywood. Hollywood is generally of one mindset: make crap that makes money. You can go just about anywhere else and make a movie that is more affordable, has more varied on location scenery and, many times, much better stories and attention to detail. ClubTepes 08-28-2006, 09:35 PM Its amazing to me who gets hired simply because of who they know. I worked on a few commercials with the guy who shot (A big feature film). I'm sure he comanded thousands of dollars per day as a DP and he didn't do his own lighting. I believe his line was.... "Show me something, and I'll tell you if I like it." I've worked with local guys who were just as good if not better than him, who could TELL ME what they wanted, and don't get a 5-figure salary (per day). How about this big guy..... I'll take your 15 g's per day and show you something you'll like and you can take credit for it. Hmmm. A little bitter? Maybe, but also deservedly so. Hey, what were we talking about? scotpens 08-28-2006, 10:57 PM So you're not naming names? Could you at least give us a hint, like Louella Parsons and Hedda Hopper used to do? ;) ;) Trek Ace 08-29-2006, 12:52 AM I think he should add Michael Bay to his list of incompetent directors. I still can't stomach any of his films, particularly The Rock. yamahog 08-29-2006, 03:02 AM http://www.sccs.swarthmore.edu/users/03/carey/the%20rock.jpg Finally, The Rock HAS COME BACK... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
