Let me be the first to break the ice, Hank.
Many of the folks in the Diorama forum should feel right at home here! I've spent a little bit of time looking through various train sites lately looking for buildings and figures that would be compatible with 1/64 cars, such as "S" scale.

OK I'll jump in the water looks warm- I think this forum is a good idea and hopefully we can all gain or offer tips on realism from each other. I enjoyed model railroading as a kid and have carried my love for realism into my HO slot car track. I've been on the web for a while so most have seen my HO track "Vargo Speedway" (http://www.supervipersystems.com/VargoSpeedway). It's a labor of love and I really enjoy the detailing as much as the racing. We now have 3 detailed tracks in our club.
I did a nice HO train table as a kid and gave it all to my cousin. I also have a 1950 Lionel Santa Fe train and many accessories I inherited from my father which is all in boxes and is really cool! That get set up at Christmas occassionally.
I have recently adopted a large N gauge layout from my step father. It is in 4 large modular sections and fills a 10' X 11' area. It is in storage now as I have no room for it but I hope someday I can set it up. It is based on the Chesapeak & Ohio Railroad is is very nicely detailed. I also received tons of trains with it, a sound system and numerous transformers. It looks as if a retired railroad guy did it all @ 1980 and my stepfather bought it. Here are some pics to see:

Very nice, very nice Scott.
I am incorporating an HO train layout with my HO slot car layout. I'll post pics from the very beginning (e.g. building of the table) to final completion.
So...having said that, final completion should be around 2010. So get ready for a lot of pics!
