View Full Version : Dave Mease Memorial race 06
TBRC1 08-26-2006, 09:09 PM This years Dave Mease memorial race is October 01 benifiting the American Diabetes Association. The big class will again be 4 cell stock. After talking to some 6 cell wingless sprint car drivers, at the Denton summer fest. I hope to have that as a class for this race and maybe into the points series. At this time we have door prizes from LEFTHANDER R/C, Boca bearings and Zubak Speed juice. I hope to have even more by the time of the race. We will be having a 50/50 to help raise even more for the Diabetes association and make one racer or even a spectator happy.
As for the rules for this race and the point series:
1. Have fun with it and remember Dave Mease as best as you can
Now for the pan car post race inspection (boring stuff :o )
1. 40 oz minimum for all cars both with personal trans or track trans.
I will be supplying the scale and a dummy transponder.
2. roof hieght will be 4/14 or 4.25 inches by the steel gauge that will be
used for all cars.
3. ride hieght will be minimum 3/16 of an inch. Chassis is the more important
part but let's keep an eye on the bodies as well.
4. 4200's will be allowed starting with the Dave Mease race and into the
points series.
5. Any ROAR approved motor WITH I.D tag on armature will be allowed. With
reguards to the new trinity motor that comes both bushing and bearing
arrangement BUSHING model only !!!!!!!!
If we have rookies this yr (there are 3 waiting in the wings) that will be a 3800 MAX battery stock motor class with FULL face brushes. Once again the motor will be a roar approved motor with armature tag.
All I am hoping to do here is setup a fair field of racing for all, as I am to be the tech inspector for the 06-07 season. With that said could someone give me a hand with wingless sprint rules that the masses are used to ?????
If any racers are going to be comming with trailers PLEASE let me know A.S.A.P so parking can be figured out for the number of trailers. Also if you can "house" a racer in you trailer that would also be very useful information to get things figured out for all. If you do come with a trailer the trailer can be backed into a space out front of the tracks front doors and the tow vehicle parked across the drivelanes in a space.
GENTLEMEN BUMP UP YOUR BATTERIES AND LET'S RACE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BigMike84 08-26-2006, 09:24 PM Im looking forward to racing again at Glen Burnie. I had a lot of fun there last year. See ya Oct 1.
TBRC1 08-27-2006, 11:42 AM I forgot to put this on last night BUT if we have 3 minimum or more of a certain type of car those racers will have thier own class. Examples would be ledgends- 6 cell spec (they run that in Seaford)- wingless sprints- mini trucks (18 T or the losi).
In any of the example classes listed if anyone has rules for them please let me know.
TBRC1 08-30-2006, 08:08 PM Folks this race is only a month away and I could use a count on how many might be coming to pit indoors and how many will be bringing trailersto pit in.
microman14 08-30-2006, 10:04 PM ill be pitting inside also more info on the rookie class also toby hows the trophy lol also do you got any pics or video from the denton race?
Mr.fastman 08-30-2006, 10:12 PM Count me in. I don't have a trailer, can I pit inside?
Doug P
TBRC1 08-30-2006, 10:13 PM trouphy is with the rest and yes I have some video. The rookie class could happen as long as there are enough to race it.
Mr.fastman 08-30-2006, 10:14 PM What are the rules regarding traction compound, I have a 5 gallon container of Paragon I'd like to use?
microman14 08-30-2006, 10:16 PM send all u got to mlaird89@comcast.net plz id like to run rookie if there's enuff
Jamie Hanson 08-30-2006, 10:35 PM Count me in. It will be a first for myself at this track and I am looking forward to it. What other classes will there besides stock?
TBRC1 08-31-2006, 07:48 PM MR Fastman as for traction compound most are using jack the gripper. There is one other but I can't remember it now. Both are ODERLESS though.
For those asking about rookie (it looks like 2 of you plus the 2 or 3 here) class it looks like we might have one this yr if the 2 or 3 here Micro and Jamie come as much as they can we can do it.
As for other classes I hope to see the wingless sprinters from Denton this season. Beyond that a class needs 3 cars...... but four makes it even more interesting.
Hope this helps and see on the 24th for the test and tune day !!!!!!!!!!!
microman14 08-31-2006, 11:22 PM ok yea not sure how im goign do it just get 4200's and run with the big dogs or play in the kiddie class not 100% sure yet
microman14 08-31-2006, 11:36 PM also is the rookie goign to be part of the 12 race point series with trophys and prizes etc at the end?? or is that just for normal 4 cell? Also when u say full face does that mean no serrations on the brush??
TBRC1 09-01-2006, 12:01 PM If the rookies show for all the races in the 12 I guess there could be something done in that case. As for the brush deal since serrations are available in production brushes use them BUT NO timing cuts or hole drilled in the face.
microman14 09-01-2006, 12:04 PM um. ok hard decission to make Also Could u send me so me of that vid from the denton race
TBRC1 09-01-2006, 12:07 PM I could if it was on disk but it's on 8mm tape

J-Dub Racing 09-03-2006, 09:38 PM What is everyone running for tires up there? Just trying to get an idea where to start.
TBRC1 09-04-2006, 10:36 AM To tell the truht I seem to remember folks running tires from the whole compound assortment. I know one guy that ran 3 greens and a blue on the right front. Others like me were running black right front grey left then on the rear right another grey and a white left rear....At least that sounds right to a few month old memory. I also thik some were running pinks and purples.
J-Dub Racing 09-04-2006, 12:30 PM Ok, sounds like Thunder Road. Should be able to get hooked up "I hope"
TBRC1 09-04-2006, 07:24 PM The big trick is stay off the infield wall trust me I know ...... ever gone from 1st to last in 1.5 to 2 seconds ???????
microman14 09-04-2006, 07:59 PM whats the roll out for there
microman14 09-04-2006, 08:01 PM whats the roll out for there, Spring setup like to be sorta close
TBRC1 09-04-2006, 08:41 PM Let me see if I have any notes from last yr...............I'm going to start with about what I had in Denton which is almost what I run at willow mill. The big changes will be tires.
microman14 09-04-2006, 09:41 PM ok ok the track doesnt have alot of bite?? i know denton had no bite intill the end.
Also are you running wings????
After this no more questions i promise.
Jeff O 09-05-2006, 11:21 AM microman, heres a close set-up. left rear gold spring, right rear red spring, right front green spring, left front red or green spring. tires i used where left front grey, right front black, right rear grey, or cream, left rear was cream, or white. no wing, i think rollout was around 1.35 to 1.50, depending on your motor. try that.

abdule 09-06-2006, 02:07 PM the only problem might be the "head" room. OH!, by the way I heard that there are a few racers gunning for you @ the MushroomBowl ORL race on 09-10-06
Mr.fastman 09-06-2006, 09:32 PM Al - Has a target on his back now!
TBRC1 09-08-2006, 07:41 PM Darn just as I got better at missing such targets :D LOL (just kidding Al :) )
abdule 09-09-2006, 06:16 AM you miss a target, I always thought you were aiming.........
TBRC3 09-09-2006, 10:05 AM Wow now i know the secret When i aiming for something i miss .when i'm not aiming i hit the BULLSEYE. ok i better start aiming. The only time i wont aim is if i'm racing toby. Sorry dude lmao
abdule 09-09-2006, 08:57 PM get some SLEEP, go to sleep, go to sleepgoo tooooo sleeeeep.......
TBRC1 09-12-2006, 08:44 PM The time grows shorter till the green flag drops on this event. Getum ready :D
Mr.fastman 09-12-2006, 10:27 PM Anyone know a good starting rollout.
TBRC1 09-12-2006, 10:45 PM UH Professor McMinn.... Mr Fastman in the back row has a question for you about gearing. After all he was # 1 in points last yr. Or we could ask the new dean of speed Al Spina the same thing ...................as for me I forgot over the summer
J-Dub Racing 09-12-2006, 10:50 PM What time will the track open on sunday 10/1/06?
Al Spina 09-12-2006, 10:51 PM Well, let me ask you this. What's your biggest spur and your smallest pinion?
microman14 09-12-2006, 10:57 PM lol start at 1.50 then go up till you smell smoke lol ... Works usally about .0000001% of the time.
TBRC1 09-12-2006, 11:06 PM Jdub I will post it here and on the Dave Mease roll cll thread once I find out. I hope to talk to the store owner and track operators this weekend.

TBRC1 09-13-2006, 07:50 PM Hey folks Like it is stated on the Dave Mease roll call thread. Bringing a table and chair is suggested as pit space is limited. Unless I'm wrong I think I put it here as well.
