From what I've seen on most set up sheets, it seems most are running the same weight oil in both side shocks.
What would be achieved by running a HEAVIER weight oil in the LR shock, and a SOFTER weight oil on the right?

Probably nothing since they aren't independent from eachother...maybe get a feel that is equivalent to the average of the two weights? This could be another 'spur gear' topic - we'll see.

Maybe if you had 35 on one side and 30 in the other you would end up with a effective weight of 32.5?
Oh, and by the way... a gear ratio is a gear ratio. LOL!!

And a Rollout is a Rollout. LOL

The only time I would consider running different oils in each shock is IF, I ran different springs. Generally, a softer spring will require more preload to get your percentages back, so with more preload, the shock will be more "springy" requiring a heaver oil to get the same feel as the other shock with a heaver spring :freak: .
How's that, LOL.

Bret hit it on the head......
Has been my experience as of late, if you jump up (To Much)in Springs, good Idea to jump up in oil...Thin oil, heavy springs make for inconsistency (20-25 wt oil, and say a Associated Red or Copper spring)......
But, In minor increments in oils to spring ratios, I couldn't see the oil making that much of a difference, Like Jason said, they're not independent, so it's not like one side would rebound or compress easier or harder than the other.......My .02..
