View Full Version : A/FX Mad Max Conversion
Daikaiju1 08-25-2006, 02:17 PM Hi Guys,
I am looking for the A/FX conversion to make the Aoshima MM2 kit into the MM1 interceptor. If anyone can point me in the right direction
i will be very grateful.
Thanks,
Geoff
PhilipMarlowe 08-26-2006, 08:43 AM Is there a reason you don't want to order from A/FX? The Interceptor conversion kit is still available on their website in the "accessories" section for $25.00:

Daikaiju1 08-26-2006, 09:15 PM Mr Marlowe,
No, no reason at all. Just didn't know where to look as none of my searches turned anything up, hence my post.
Thanks very much for the link, can't wait to check it out.
Wicked looking car, huh? Is it yours on Cults site?
Thanks
Geoff

Glad to help, Geoff. And those are my interceptors on Cult's site. The A/FX is a great conversion kit, and very well-cast.
Daikaiju1 08-28-2006, 02:40 AM Hi Phillip,
i have just emailed A/FX to order a kit. Your Interceptors at Cult look great, if mine look as good I will be very happy.
thanks for your help,
Geoff
Daikaiju1 10-11-2006, 06:49 PM I ordered this conversion set on Aug 30 and was advised that it would be shipping in about 2 weeks. Thats the last I have heard from them apart from the charge on my credit card.
Now my emails are being returned! Not a good experience with A/FX N Scale Resin, beware!
spencer1984 10-13-2006, 12:30 PM The general experience seems to be that A/FX is good, but slow. I ordered a grille from them for my '72 Plymouth at the beginning of the year, and it was a couple of months before it arrived.
A few days before your order, I had also placed an order for a MM conversion kit as welll as a '70 Olds hood, with no intention of starting either kit until spring. Unfortunate, yes, but they always seem to come through eventually.
Daikaiju1 10-21-2006, 07:28 PM Hmm, maybe I should be more patient, but the lack of contact remains a concern.
spencer1984 10-23-2006, 12:12 PM Unfortunately, I have heard that as well (haven't tried contacting them myself, but I've heard the same complaint from others). It probably should bother me more, but that seems to be par for them as well and I just figure it will get here eventually. The first one of us to get their parts should post here so that the other person can have a heads up. Odds are, both orders will be made and shipped at the same time.
Daikaiju1 10-24-2006, 06:14 AM Hi Spencer,
If I receive my parts I will definitely post to let you and others who may be interested know. However, its coming up to 2 months, rather than the promised 2 weeks. I now have the forms to follow up via my credit card.
I have emailed AFX again and this time the email seems to have been delivered. Still no reply though. If anything changes I'll let you know. thanks for the support.
PS. It is Spring!! (here) GS
Flux Chiller 10-31-2006, 02:39 PM Guess there are a few of us ordering these. I am still waiting, credit card went through.
Patience though for the moment...
Daikaiju1 01-24-2009, 07:23 AM Ha ha this is so funny! I am doing google searches to see if I can find one, and this thread turns up from a few years ago. If AFXnScale resin is out there, you still have my $25US and I have nothing from you!!
I saw one guy on SSM ordered a Mad Max Conversion kit from them last year and he received it. Guess he was lucky, I was not.
Anyway, Iguess the point is, don't order from these guys unless you are really sure they will deliver.
Good luck GS
