I am getting ready to run a 1/12th scale oval car this fall. What bodies will be the best for a flat carpet oval? Do some make more down force?

Do some make more down force? MURDOCKRC 08-25-2006, 09:59 AM Larry there are only 3 choices at this time. Windtunnel, bandit and aero 1. Pretty easy to narrow the field really. I have just re-released a 1/12th truck body as well. Rob @ Windtunnel MIKE VALENTINE 08-25-2006, 09:59 AM AERO 1 Dodge charger, IMO but I haven't seen the Windtunnel stuff. 98Ron 08-25-2006, 11:21 AM Gentlemen, we should not forget our west coast brotheren, McCallister. MURDOCKRC 08-25-2006, 01:13 PM OOps, sorry about that, I didnt know Gary did any 1/12th scales these days. Should have looked before I said anything. J-Dub Racing 08-25-2006, 03:25 PM Putnam has one as well. Larry, where are you going to be running that 1/12th oval? Thunder Road?? If that is the case I would love to run 1/12 open mod or something. Joel Larry B 08-25-2006, 04:12 PM J-dub, I am goin to be going to Thunder Road after the nitro season is over in September. I want to do some set up work for the Oval Masters. The masters will have a 1/12th class with 19 turn motors. After that I may also do an ORL race or two if they still run 12th scale. I may be too old for the 1/12th mod. LOL I have enjoyed the .09 nitro speed ( about as fast as 19 turn ) this summer and look forward to the 19 turn in the 1/12th scale car. The .09 series has 6 races and we(Mclin, Gary Warren, Steve Vaughan and Harold Ruckle) have made some other races also ( a tolal of nine for me). I have ran the .09 open class and have won the Limited series points. I came very close to winning the ARCOR Forth of July race in .09. It has been one of the best summers I have had in R/C in my almost 20 years. Most of the trips were a six hour drive one way. With the cost of gas and motels it will be nice to slow down some when carpet season gets in full swing. I am running 1/12th to try to make my racing budget go a little further. MURDOCKRC 08-25-2006, 05:31 PM J-dub the aero 1 is the putnam body swtour 08-25-2006, 08:59 PM McAllister's are Charger and Monte Carlo type bodies. I've been playing w/ the M/C , but plan to do up a Charger for the "Thunder in the Desert" race coming up next month in Phoenix's R/C Sports Mania vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
