What do you consider Vintage Diecast?

I know vintage Hot Wheels and Toppers cars are from 1968-early 70's, and other people consider vintage up to the 80's with other diecast companies.

Corgi, early Matchbox, Dinky, etc. are good examples of vintage diecast to me.

Is a diecast car 20-25 years old considered vintage to you?

Thanks for any replies in advance............STUTZ

Vintage to me is anything 1975 and before. Redlines, old Matchbox, and Tootsietoys mostly.

To me it's a subjective term but I like to think that it's something made before 1970. There have always been different styles and "grades" of toys. There's nothing to stop later things being "1970s vintage" or "1980s vintage." I do not think of the 1990s as being old at all, although many would disagree with me on this point.

I like the 1972 cutoff date myself but '75 is fine to. Vintage in Baseball/Football Cards or in general Collector Cards, is anything 1972 and earlier-

Thanks for the replies. I didn't want to post pics on the wrong board. The pics that I wanted to post are from a company that was started in 1975. It doesn't really fit in on the Die Cast Collecting board or the Vintage Diecast board. I wanted to post pics of some cars from this company made from 1975-1986 (31years old to 20 years old). I'll just forget about posting pics of them.

I don't want to upset anyone Rob.

They don't fit it with Vintage Diecast or Die Cast Collecting (Diecast Collecting seems to be a lot of newer diecast).

They are 1/43 Brooklins made in England. There doesn't seem to be much interest here.

I'll try to find a board to post pics of them.

Then post them on the HW board... you have my permission.. just title the thread "O/T 1/43 Scale Brooklins"

Thanks Rob.

I decided to post pics in the "Die Cast Collecting" forum.

To me, 'Vintage' is pre '80

I have my own rule of thumb...

With HW, it's pre 1990...with MB, it's Universal or earlier...

I guess with other brands, it all falls within the same time frame.

I guess the definition of VINTAGE diecast varies among collectors, and it varies from maker to maker (Matchbox, JL, Hot Wheels, corgi, etc.)

I love looking at the old Buddy L toys from the 40's. I saw a Buddy L display at a toy show years ago. I wish I would have taken pictires of them. They are very large toys, and are very impressive!

"Vintage" = pre-1980 for me, too.
