Kevin,
I have a set of stock posts with the bottom cut off like your design (was trying an expirement) but by having the machined under cut to allow the bottom notch keeps the post vertical up and down and no risk of angular movement left to right with the post mounted to the shock tower.

Would it be possible to make them from a larger OD material for more support. Of the body the post looks narrow in the pic.

The bottom is made from 7/16" delrin and the top is made from 1/4" I can make it a deeper depth on the notch and I will try to make it with the little edge.

without the bottom notch, the post will move about, and change the body position in the rear of the car...

I think he's using the top of the notch to ride against the top of the cross brace. As long as the screw hole is in the right place it shouldn't rack back and forth.

Mike you are correct the top will rest against the top of the tower and have the bolt held to the brace. I was talking to Bill A. this morning and he said it was a great idea that way if for some reason it was a tight fit it would be able to adjust it a little so you wouldnt have to trim or shave it any.

I tryed rear posts without the lower notch like that and they rocked back and forth no matter how tight the screw is.If you add the lower part of the post i will buy a couple sets.
