Maybe not from hell... I am having problems though... I rebuilt the carb a few days ago, it's the simple carb with no screws to adjust the jets just a float style... It runs nicer than it has ever ran in its time with me BUT i can never get it to start! I prime it 5 times as the sticker says, and it just wont start! I tried to prime it less, more, etc... NOTHING The only way I can get it started is with a small shot of ether, after that it runs smooth. Doesnt hesitate going from idle to full throttle, doesnt sputter, backfire, nothing. Any ideas?! I really like the older tecumseh carbs. :(

Hi,
What do you mean run it up and down the hole? I know what screw your talking about though. Why cant these carbs be like the briggs and startons with the screws to adjust the jets!

The bolt that holds on the fuel bowl.... run a wire (bread tie will do) up the hole.
