hey everyone!.. :cool: .i was wondering if anyone had those 'magna-sonic' units that went on magna-traction slot cars. If so, 1.what do they sound like?.. and 2. what was the engineering behind these things?..did they have little plastic pins that would rub on the idler gear or something???...very curious... :confused:

was like a little reed that vibrator inside a thin skined box like a flat drum.. sounded. hmm diffrent.. ok sounded dumb in my opinion but kids today may like them a lot like some of the music coming off dysney channel.

thanks for the response...thats kind of how i figured they worked....Does the pitch of the sound go 'up' as the throttle is pushed more or does it just rap on the 'drum' thing faster?...i'm gonna try to rig something like that for 2 of my t-jets just for kicks.....

They sound like like a small 50cc dirt bike IMHO.

They remind me of putting a playing card on my schwinn with a clothes pin, But I think it made me faster. I wonder if it still works that way ?

Yeah, that's about right.
Cool for the collection.... but not for everyday fun.

We have NOS aurora sound box units ($3 each 2/$5) if your interested in the real deal. And yes 50cc mini bike, card in the spokes or "fart makers" is what we always called them, as at full speed it's just a continious thwarpppppppp sound.

I have one Magna-Sonic car, a reddish orange Baja Bug. When I take the kids down to play with slot cars, they always ask to drive the "noisybug," as they've named it...
