DaCustomizer 08-21-2006, 02:29 AM post pics of ur 1:1 ride!, that look kool
Pablodragon 08-21-2006, 09:06 AM the real one is much less exciting... just bought it a couple months ago out of nessecity... spent all the money on the car so I'm on a verrryy low budget for modifications...just one thing at a time.... thinking about an aftermarket intake, they are pretty cheap on evil-bay, and would give it a little sound but I have to find out if it voids any warranties...http://www.wideopenwest.com/~whitedragon/paul-neon04.jpg
Midnightrun 08-21-2006, 09:44 AM What about SRT-4... My parents are buying me that when I get my license after having my permit for 6 months.

Although I am getting it in black and putting an upgraded turbo and CPU. Also full Exhaust system
 ---Midnightrun---
Pablodragon 08-21-2006, 10:26 AM well, must be nice to have rich parents and get a free car as soon as u get a liscence... and then be able to drop hundreds of dollars worth of parts on it right away....
actually, when I bought this car, there was a red SRT4 on the lot but couldn't afford double the price for it. So I will just go one thing at a time.....
ClearHooter 08-21-2006, 10:48 AM Pablodragon: Careful hangin' that from the rearview. Might smack that windshield. :drunk: Both look good by the way. I've been trying to get my wife to go with a low profile spoiler and two wide blue stripes on her white '06 Cobalt. She doesn't see the improvement however.
Midnightrun: Though this will be something you'll probably ignore (my son did) I'll give you several rules about sports cars I gleened from the school of hard knox.
1. NEVER let anyone drive your sports car. It won't come back the way it left.
2. Never drive your sports car drunk. It stands a chance it won't come back the way it left and neither will you.
3. Never run your sports car on dirt roads. Washboards are not our friends. Your sports car will end up in a ditch.
4. NEVER, NEVER break rules 1-3 at the same time. This is a disaster looking for a place to happen.
When you ignore all these rules and the inevitable happens you may get a flash back to this thread. Give us a write back when you push the envelope.
Midnightrun 08-21-2006, 11:11 AM UMMMM ClearHooter sorry to break ur bubble but I have been in the streetracing scene with my cousin for 2 years an I know what to do and what not to do. Drinking and driving is for idiots. People who do that deserve to crash off the road and kill themselves. And how could i drive a SRT-4 on the dirt its only Front wheel drive.
Oh and Pablodragon.... I don't consider myself rich. A rich person makes millions a year and dosn't really have to work. I work and my dad makes like 250G's. This way my mom dosn't have to work and she can stay home and take care of us. Plus we have to pay for college 30G's a semester I guess.
 ---Midnightrun---
ClearHooter 08-21-2006, 01:06 PM Ohkee Dohkee
But dude....That kind of income ain't chicken feed... At least 'round here. :dude:
grayhouse 08-21-2006, 03:05 PM my dad makes like 250G's:
I wish you all the luck with your new car Midnight and I don't mean to start anything, but I do beg to differ with you if you don't consider making $250.000.00 a year rich....
Oh yes, nice job on both those Neons, Pablodragon
DaCustomizer 08-21-2006, 04:29 PM nice cars! Pablo!,

Midnightrun 08-21-2006, 06:32 PM The houses where I live in Maryland cost 1,000,000 or the lowest which is a shack is 500,000. So here 250,000 is like 150,000 and if I moved to NC or back to Ohio the houses that cost a million here cost like 250,000 to 500,000..... For peet sakes have mercy on me ahhhhh!!!
 ---Midnightrun---
ClearHooter 08-21-2006, 07:44 PM Sorry if it seems this thread is getting highjacked but I can't keep from pointing out a couple of discrepencies in MR's logic.
"I've been street racing with my cousin for 2 yrs and I know what to do and what not to do."
Don't street race! You got any drag strips up there? I know you got SCCA and VIR is just down the road. Trust it from someone that's got more T-shirts than you may ever have. Its a lot more fun doing 150mph in an MG Midget down the back stretch at Charlotte Motor Speedway (it'll NEVER be LOWE'S) than it is doing 110mph in an MG Midget down Hwy 16 with a NC State Trooper behind you.
How can I drive a FWD on dirt? Don't want to encourage you on that one....But you ever watch road rallies?
Dirt roads at speed scare me and I'm fearless. I've jumped from 3 perfectly good airplanes, over 130 hours PIC in a hot air balloon, Did the SCCA thing for a while, and the dumbest thing of all; I went down Chimney Rock Mt. road in a homemade #2 wash tub, Gravity Racer. :freak:
But what do I know?
grayhouse 08-21-2006, 09:18 PM The houses where I live in Maryland cost 1,000,000 or the lowest which is a shack is 500,000.
 ---Midnightrun---
OK, but that is your folks choice to live in a million$ neihborhood...as they should...they've earned it. I lived near the border of Penn. and Maryland a few years back and the housing there is alot cheaper than out hear in Cailifornia....So just imagine how little a million would get you in this state. Lets just say that your folks are well off, alot more well off than most. There's nothing wrong with that. Your father has done very well with his life and thats something to be proud of
69Stang 08-21-2006, 09:43 PM OK, I am not even going to way in on the income debate. Not my business ( though I wish my business paid as well!). But I have got to say along with Clear....DUDE...STREET RACING IS FOR LOOSERS! I understand you have most likley not driven yourself, just your cusin. But as a long time (read that as old!) racer...be a man and take it to the tracks!
Street racing is about the attitude, the poser, the chicken. Run when you feel like it, take it home if things don't go your way. Hope you don't kill a family of 5 in a mini van that happened to be on the road at the wrong time. PLease, take a stand and break that cycle.
A real man ( and woman) has enough confidence to step up to the plate and say..." Line it up in the REAL world, and I can still take you down!" Heck I can get a 76' Dodge Aspen up to 105 mph if you give me enough miles to get it rolling. But give me a quarter mile, and i'll show you what you really have. No excuses, no bull. Just plane simple, hard cold facts. When the green light comes on, there is no questions left at the other end. There is a clear winner, a clear looser!
Don't get me wrong MC, I am really not on your case. This just is a sore spot for me.
But back on topic...I love the car Pablo! Nice work!
Midnightrun 08-21-2006, 10:03 PM Don't get me wrong ya we have great tracks here. I probably won't race on the streets myself. Of course I am going to the track. Well unless I get on the highway at 2am in the mornin mabe I'll do a little higher than 100. Just for a little  .......................Hence Midnightrun...................
And anyways my cusin and I havn't highway raced for one year at least he is hard at work in the Stockmarket.... I think our highway racing is done for now. I hope to go to Japan and rip it up on the Wangan Highway. Go to google video and type Wangan check out some of the real life races on that highway.
Pablo Sorry for Screwin Up this thread feel free to screw up one of mine!!!
 ---Midnightrun---
Greyhound 08-21-2006, 10:26 PM Nice Neons
Pablodragon 08-21-2006, 11:19 PM Hey thanx!... guess we'll just end the other stuff...
by the way, I forgot to add some black trim around the windows (did that) and painted the side mirrors black..just to match.... and also whoever commented on hanging the car on my rear-view...it's ok, maybe in some other cars, or maybe older cars, the rear-view end up close to the windshield, but in the Neon, the windshield is raked back so much, it never even swings close to it!
...on a side note, I may in the future, remove those plastic or whatever black side door protectors, for a cleaner look..(check the real car pic)...looks like they are just put on with some kind of double side adhesive...any ideas how to remove?
ClearHooter 08-21-2006, 11:33 PM That was me about the hangin' stuff. Most of that stick-on mold can be removed with a heat gun. It does help prevent parking lot dings. I've also seen it come off side swiping a State Line Sign :drunk:
mn_dodgeboy 08-24-2006, 10:56 PM sweet diecast. I love the paint. What is going to be done with your real car dude?
Fast Eddie 09-01-2006, 10:16 AM MR you sound like a wreck in the makin'. Too often when kids are handed stuff like you are about to get, they screw it up. Listen to these guys. And where in Maryland are u, so I'll know to stay off the streets, must be Montgomery county, where a nice condo will set you back half a million. I work in Rockville, North Bethesda, you probably hang with all the tuners at Montrose Crossing shopping center. Oh Pablo Dragon, nice work on the Neon.
Midnightrun 09-01-2006, 11:05 AM Well I don't live in Montgomery..... but i guess they have high prices to.
Oh and i don't hang with tuners .... I am with my cousin in Rockville near the metro by the Mcdonalds, bus depo, gasstation(Mobil i guess), and Giant. Then we go on 29 or some highways. The people that my cousin works with in financial stockmarket stuff all have ferraris, some lambos (rare), porshes, and very few supras, subis, and mercedes.....
I don't think thats tuner..... And we make sure theres no one on the mabe 2 mile stretch we run on. We send a car ahead to see if the coast is clear....
But of course sometimes we get the eagerness to run on our own ;)
Don't worry my cousin is full time in bussiness now he can't race,,,,, and I probably won't do it again unless the Maryland drag strips get more conjested.....We havn't raced for like a year now!!!!! :( :p
 ---Midnightrun--- :hat:
DaCustomizer 09-01-2006, 02:13 PM did u get the neon yet?
Midnightrun 09-01-2006, 06:54 PM Not NEON any more SRT-4 now..... I still have probably 4 to 5 months before I get my real license...
My Uncle just bought a BMW M5
 ---Midnightrun---
DaCustomizer 09-01-2006, 07:10 PM *jaws dropped* M5!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !! U GUYS R RICH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
for you? :freak: :hat: :(
97XR7 09-01-2006, 07:32 PM MR, You opened your self up for that one. With the street race comment and with the braging of your first car and wanting to mod it and you dont even have it yet.
Words of advice"Dont race your street car and dont street your race car."
Or your going to learn a very expensive lesson and maybe one that will take your life.
Pablo, Sweet job on the Neon. My folks are looking for one for my sister for her first car. It dont have to be fast she says, just silver with a wing on the back.
Midnightrun 09-01-2006, 08:35 PM Oh wow I opened myself up..................... WHO gives........... I thought this stuff was over. Its my fault for bringing this stuff up so lets just get back to the matter at hand..... HOTWHEELS,Customizing, JL's, Muscle Machines, and Matchboxes!!!!!!
 ---Midnightrun---

Pablodragon 09-01-2006, 09:08 PM hey...back to a question for me....
Still going slow, one thing at a time on the real Neon.... I will probably be getting a cold air intake and air filter soon, maybe next week....
..and by the way, I found a forum for Neons on dodgeforum.com..
and I just today removed the side molding! was kinda trying to research a way to do it, finally just went outside and pulled it off!....it left some sticky foam lines, but was able to remove those and now I got smooth sides!
69Stang 09-02-2006, 01:45 PM Pablo, how bout' a pic with the trim removed.
Pablodragon 09-02-2006, 09:41 PM ok

69Stang 09-04-2006, 10:41 AM Wow, what a difference it made to remove the trim. It really smoothed out the look. Nice job!
