Works just fine pepe 08-20-2006, 10:31 PM Dustin, you can use some fuel tubing, causes binding though,or Bandit RC makes a bushing just for the hpi shock,it keeps the shock freed up very nicely. microman14 08-20-2006, 10:39 PM i been using fuel tube just gotta watch when it start to crack and just replace it DustinB 08-20-2006, 10:52 PM pepe do they have a website bandit rc? tw78911sc 08-20-2006, 10:57 PM Pepe, Does that part come from BMW inventory? Just checking Tom MURDOCKRC 08-20-2006, 11:00 PM Drill it and use fuel tubing Dusty. Drop me a line if you need help Rob jmcdo28 08-20-2006, 11:03 PM just use the one that comes in the kit but cut off the large part of the bushing. swtour 08-20-2006, 11:12 PM Dustin Donny Anderson and Larry Ruby (Ruby Racing Products) have a machined shock bushing just for this application. They are getting ready to launch some other products as well. You can contact Donny @ donnydba@aol.com Tell him Joe Myers from the South-West Tour sent you...(Every tool box should have a 1/2 dozen of them...they are perfect and don't bind like the fuel tubing.) pepe 08-20-2006, 11:30 PM Pepe, Does that part come from BMW inventory? Just checking Tom Tom if it were BMW certified it would cost $1000 and it would take 20-30 engineers to figure out how to make it and another 20-30 to figure out how to get it into production,LOL. grif 08-22-2006, 06:45 PM HPI makes a shock parts kit that has the plastic caps and bushings. HPI# 73510 KenBajdek 08-22-2006, 07:16 PM Just use the AE threaded shock instead. Too much hype about HPI for center shocks. The bushing that comes with the plastic cap fits fine. I have always used AE. jmcdo28 08-22-2006, 09:39 PM the hpi is much smoother and doesnt leak, thats the biggest thing for me... less maintenance! KenBajdek 08-22-2006, 09:51 PM How much does it leak. I check my AE shock every week and don't need to rebuild or top off with oil for at least 4 or 5 weeks. If the either shock is built correctly it will be smooth too. I run AE shocks (TC3 threaded style) on all my pan cars and my sprint cars and have had no leaking problems. They are also smooth as silk. Besides AE parts are easier to find. HPI parts are a pain to get and are usually backordered anyway as is with most HPI parts. davepull 08-22-2006, 10:16 PM ditto on the AE shock. smooth easy to build. easy to get parts for. erock1331 08-22-2006, 10:35 PM if you look at the HPI parts tree, you will see a round piece with a hole in the middle. Take this round piece and place it in the cap. Then take a 4-40 screw and put it up through this cap with the threads showing. You can also place a lock washer up in there. Then get an eyelet with pivot ball (CW sells with their kits). I believe a dubro eyelet and brass ball would work as well. Screw that eyelet down onto the 4-40 threading, no slop like fuel tubing mjmeer17 08-22-2006, 11:35 PM erock that what i do i use the durbo with brass ball, and your right no slop SDL98 08-22-2006, 11:38 PM I use a eylet sim to what Erock is saying even with my assoc center shocks. The eylet I used was a assoc part but I don't know what it fits or is made for. It does alow a nice no slop setup and the has great side to side movement without binding vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
