We are going back to the Arena Racing Track 4 times this winter. Right now I only have the first date. And that is Oct. 17, 2009. There are pictures from last year on the GLQSR site or look at the track and Arena Racing on their site www.arenaracinggr.com Maybe Mr. Davis should come and try this as he has 2 tracts like this down his way. If any one is interested in coming and helping us promote Quarter Sacale Racing we will be glad to have you. Any questions? Just ask away or E Mail me. Orrin3@Charter,net. If we can get 10 or more cars on the track the crowd will go carzy. Thanks

Hey now we have got a little interest going. That's great. I don't have all the details yet. I was pushing to get the first date from the promoter so that we would have a couple of races to talk about this. All the dates should be Sat. nights like the Oct. 17th. It is more of a promotion than a race. The general idea is that we would have about an hour of practice and this would be after there cars have practiced. This way there should be great traction. They have a greeting time where they bring all the cars and drivers into the infield and let the fans come down and look and talk. They use organizations like ours to fill in between mains. Last year we only ran once for 50 laps. They went wild watching us. The promoter wanted us to come back for every race. My hope is that we will be able to run two times at 50 laps each. You race under their track insurance and sign a wavier to get in. Last year they let 2 people per car in free. You have to carry your stuff inside as no trailers are allowed inside. No fueling inside the building either. The drivers stood at the edge of the track on the back stretch. Its not the best but that is the way it is. Everything I just told you is based on last year because we haven't got to work all the details out. I will be sure to keep you informed as we get more details. It really would great if you guys could come up. Last year we all ran sportsman. I hadn't thought about sprint cars. Maybe we could work in a heat race if we had 6 or more.
Thanks, Orrin

Sunday Sept. 27, 2009 is the last race of the year in Lansing. It's a fun race not a points race. Head Chef Joe Duke will be doing hamburg's this week. Pres. Randy Brown has a big box of Door Prizes to give away. Practice starts at 9 and racing at 12:30.

THE WENDY'S TRIPLE DECKER 450 (to be run in three legs of 150 laps each)
Each leg winner will get a Wendy's Gift Certificate.

This is the last chance to come on out and have a great time at the race track this year. So come on out.

The demo for Quarter Scale at Arena Racing in Grand Rapids is just over a week away. Is anyone interested in getting in on this? So far I have 8 cars lined up. We still could use 3 or 4 more. Maybe the 77 Display Car could show up and be a marshall. That do you think Stivy? If anyone wants in on the fun just make sure you contact me before next Wed. so I can add you to the entry list. "The Clowns of the Ice Capades 50" is in the record books. The Arena Racing people redid the track over the summer and there was no rubber to help us out. Even at the end of the night the track was still smooth, no rubber. We really hope that by the next time we go there it will be better. We had 9 cars and 5 marshals. You all did a great job of promoting Quarter Scale racing with the conditions we had to work with. Thanks guys. You did good.

1/4 scale in Desmoines IA january 22nd 23rd

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Jim Patton from ft. dodge asked me to make a post. Acording to him during the battle at the barn at vets auditorium in Desmoines they are interested in running sportsman and sprints in between some events. if they get 12 cars to show they will make it an actual class for next year. this might just be hotlaps or a actual race. we would have to score ourselves. the track will be concrete. i guess there will be 6 thousand in attendance and so far will have to buy a pit pass to race which is twenty dollars. according to the website theres go kart races, quads and motorcross and a all race trade show. maybe at the trade show we can set up a table with info and get peolpe interested. a good way to promote 1/4 scale and in january. any questions contact jim patton

jims email is jtp.333.racing@homail.com

It's time to talk demo at The Arena Racing. The next demo is Nov. 28, 2009. This is the Saturday of Thanksgiving Weekend. The traction problem is getting better. Last Sat. they had enough traction to roll 4 cars over durning the racing events. We were thinking of closing the stagger down to around 1/2 inch. Maybe instead of a 405 put a L30 or L20 on the RR. The best thing would be to have a couple of tire combo's along that line just in case. If you interested in coming to be part of this demo please let me know. Thanks
