Well, Almost 10 pages of threads down, it's about time to bump this thread to the top for a while.

GOOD NEWS:
GLQSR has a few people that will be doing a promotional at an Arena Racing venue. We will be practicing for about an hour and then as a filler we will get a chance to race for about 20 minutes. All the while we will be displaying our cars in front of about 2000 people in Grand Rapids Michigan.

Check out these 1/2 scale cars. They are 13 Hp and reach speeds in the areana of aobut 50Mph, but are capable of about 100Mph outdoors. They have some hefty sponsorship as well and are playing for a $10,000 payday.

The track is built inside of a hockey arena and insidae the rink is a high back oval for these cars. Check out this site, there are a few track around and seems to be growing: http://www.arenaracinggr.com/

So if you want to check out the show, we will be there on Sunday February 8th. Should be a lot of fun and we hope to get a few people intrested in the hobby as well.

Doors open to the public at about 2PM and we well put on our exabition race at about 8PM.

speeds you can't blieve
jim bell's car was even hooked up

Yep, my car was pretty good and the track was very large. I know that the arena owners were very impressed and want us to come back. We are going to talk more about that in our meeting. They even said they could provide trophys and do a real race.
I'm thinking this could be a cool thing for the winter months to have a few races to go to. Sound promising and it would be in front of about 2000 people. There are 3 tracks right now, One in North Carolina, Vergina and Grand rapids MI.

Maybe even a charity event to take over for ROGN... That would be a real cool thing

I was wondering how it went in Grand Rapids, sounds like you guys had a good time. Wished I could've made it over there. That would be totally cool if we could work something out with those guys & race during the winter months. Maybe we'll get some more drivers out of the deal at the very least.

Especially coming out of the corners, it looks like the track gets narrower. I did watch a few videos of the 1/2 scalers & they really give it thier all, flips & everything.... :woohoo:

Harry,
I know it is way over due too. I am going to revamp the entire site and I am working on it as we speak. I have to first transfer thousands of files to the site as most of them were being used off my personal computer. It is a bit hard to explain, but this site is the most difficult site I have to deal with.

I am trying to not only update everything in the site for accuracy, but to also make it so if someone else had to take it over at some point, that they would not have the issues I have had to deal with...

With that said, I have serveral weeks off in the comming month or so that I will be able to focus my attention to the GLQSR site. If there is specific information that you need, please let me know and I will do everything I can to provide.

Thank you

I hope so. I'm just happy to be racing again!!!! Maybe in he future we'll have a new track to race on, I'm working on that, the economy is NOT helping that situation though. But I do know 1 thing, we have a good group of racers & I'm really looking forward to running with you guys. Waa hoo!!!

Thanks man!!! I appriciate that. With about 15 or more Grand National running at DFW, I just hope to make the A main. I know Brent, Newall, Scrampski, And the Andrews boys are going to be there. I'll have Brown and several other big names to contend with as well.

I hope to finish all 300 laps and where ever I finish I'll be happy. This will be my first GN race.

Also, For any club members or anyone else that wants one. I have several GLQSR logos for the hood or if you want you can put them on your tow vehicle.

e-mail me for info.

They look like this, but the photo does not do them justice:

Thought I'd catch it before we slipped off the 1st page again. Been working on my car. Little by little its coming. Almost finished & ready to turn some laps. Geez, probably everyone in the club has turned laps this year but me. Gonna have to cut me some slack guys, its been a while. Test & Tune a little over a week away & I'll be ready. Wondering, will anyone have some fuel I can buy at the track?

I need the rubber receiver that goes on the fuel filler of the car. The part you put the fuel bottle into to fill up. Thanks, JAMMIN

Jon, for the Test and Tune the end of your fuel bottle will fit into your filler hose to fill the tank, then put a 6-32 bolt in it to keep it from leaking.
