Happy New Year everyone!!
06 was a good year for racing and I'm looking forward to 07 being better. It won't be long before snow flys here in Michigan (Just gives us time to work on the race cars). I just hope it's a short winter.
Be safe over the holiday and have fun!!!

Here is some more good news "QuarterScale Motorsports":

WHAT’S HAPPENING AT

QUARTERSCALE MOTORSPORTS?

Where do we begin? First thing-We purchased an acre of commercial property in San Bernardino with three buildings on it. One is a manufacturing facility where our cars will be built. There is an office and showroom for cars and parts to be displayed. The third will be used as a parts warehouse. There will also be two test tracks, one for asphalt and one for dirt.

That is just the beginning-As of today Quarterscale Motorsports has purchased Lightning RC Cars from Chuck Beeman. All future car and parts orders will be directed to Quarterscale Motorsports.

We are in the process of hiring at least four employees to insure we will be able to meet the rising demand of the Quarterscale Motorsports Predator Sprint Car, Slingshot Pro Stock and the Lightning Stock Car.

There are other changes in the works as well. New phone and computer systems are being put in place so we can respond to all your requests in a timely and efficient manner.

Please bear with us during this transition period as we expect to be up to full speed by April 1st. Questions/comments? Please call Larry Cross at 800-266-7745 (outside of California) or 909-987-7745.

WOW!!!

That is BIG NEWS!!! I know Chuck has been a long-time supporter and the previous owner of Lightning, Terry Rea, was also a big supporter of quarter scale racing.

Best of luck to all at Quarter Scale Motorsports!!!

Regards,
Joe

I'm going to let it warm up a bit in the AM, so probably about 10AM. We usualy start about 9, but, it's still cold at that hour. Should be a great weekend, weather wise. I know Randy said he was going to be there most likely. I think John will too. I'm sending a note out when I get home to everyone just to let them know. This is a spur of the moment thing.

jbell31

It was a fun time at The Fun Time part raceway. No pun intended. It was a balmy 55 degrees but more than a dozen racers showed up. The track was a chanllenge but by the end of the day we all had some good lap times. Can't wait until we race for real, (and in warmer weather).

I'm heading to Freddies on the 26th, and I think a few others are going to make it as well.

It looks like we'll be getting new software for the scoring tower. J-lap may have seen it's last year at GLQSR, but this new system is awsome. I'll be looking in to it more in the coming days.

I'll be posting some of the pictures from the weekend and updating the Drivers profiles on a few as well.

See you all next week if you are a Freddies. If not I'll see you on June 3rd.

Well the rain came, but a few of us die hard racers played for a while anyway. Randy had to say while we were running, "hey, did you guys know it was racing?" Our reply was "yea, I think so". Anyway, the farmer plowed in the road that we get into the track, so it was intresting getting in and out. That should be fixed the next time though.

My car works much better without the bent axials!!!

hobbyten
06-03-2007, 07:15 PM
doug and i were told racing was cancelled due to the farmer plowing the drive into the track. i was at i-69 and 27 when i got the call so i went and bench raced at dougies and then came home.

Good thing you did. We had to pull a truck with a trailer out of the mud on the way in and out. Unless you had 4 wheel drive, you were getting stuck. That is why it was called off. Plus we didn't have much track time before it rained again.

IHAUL
06-05-2007, 09:25 PM
the drive was better today .
Randy was nice enough to let me ride in his mudder across the field .
We ran a tank of fuel through before it started raining again. as cold as it was both cars were really hooked up on the track.
Randy is heading for Iowa this weekend.

Hi guys,

Will you guys get the word out that we've repaired the track access road here in Lansing and everything should be fine for the rest of the racing season.

I was out there Thursday and used the road and all I stirred up was dust - NO MUD, just dust. So we're ready for the rest of our races!

We're mowing twice a week and the whole area looks great. We're mowing the infield and the back stretch as low as possible and we're bagging the grass in the infield. Remember, the track is open for practice every Tuesday from noon 'til 7:00 pm.

We're also using the demo copy of the scoring program, R C Scoring Pro, every Tuesday so all your lap times are announced real time! This feature is really helping racers setup their cars. In addition to giving lap times every Tuesday, we'll also use this feature of the new race software at every GLQSR race during morning practice. We'll be voting on buying the R C SCORING PRO ($599) software at the June 17th (Father's Day) race.

we're a little early on letting people know about scoring pro system . we are looking and testing it right now, the sample progam has some things we need to learn about. so please don't think we will have it up and running at the first race. you guys would not want to waist a day of racing on me learning then.we will set it up on tuesdays when i can be there so on race day it goes smooth. i make enough goof ups with the computer now and the next race is 1 week away and i do have a time problem .any help i can get would be great, i know jim and the others will be there when i need them.

Sorry if my message regarding the new race management program was confusing. John is right, we will continue using the existing race software to RUN THE RACES until we're sure the new system is working properly. What I said is that we'll use the new software DURING PRACTICE times on Tuesday starting June 12th and during the PRACTICE TIME in the morning at the GLQSR races starting June 17th. I specifically didn't say we'd use the new software to run the GLQSR races starting June 17th. The reason for handling PRACTICE different from RACES is because we have already tested the "practice mode" and it works fine and doesn't affect John in any way on race day. We'll run J-Lap until we're sure we can run the races with the new software without problems. Hope this clarifies my original memo.

OOPS, I should have said "IHAUL is right..." not "John is right..."

I just remembered that Jim Bell put a copy of the PRACTICE printout of lap times we did last week on the GLQSR web site so if you want to actually see the printout, go to our site. Drivers also hear their own lap times EVERY LAP and you hear these lap times by the time you enter turn two. How's that for feedback we can all use immediately. No more purple boxes to buy and wait 'til you're done running before you can know any of your lap times.

06-12-2007, 06:08 AM
Yes sir, True that!!

In addition, I recieved a very nice "History of Quarter Scale Racing in Michigan" note from Mike Reniger. This is some great history, please take some time to read it. I posted it on our website.
http://www.glqsr.com/history.html

If you have anything to add or have something that would be benificial to other racers, please send it my way.

Thanks Mike!!!
