There are acutally 2 groups racing in Dubuque this year. One at the Fairgrounds and the other at the church gym like last year. I don't think that the schedule for the gym has been announced yet.

What's up is that last year the club track only raced 8 times. A group of members that wanted to race more than that and try to rebuild local participation bought the carpet and state of the art AMB system of a track that closed, re-established a relationship with the Dubuque Fairgrounds and is ready to race - starting next week. When the club schedule doesn't conflict with ours, we'll still race there - and we think the opposite will be true. Everybody wins.

First day of racing now in the books! "Race for the Wall" benefit race raised over $5,000 for improvements to the Dubuque Speedway retaining wall. Eight stock car drivers selected by vote of the fans raced equally prepared RC cars as a crowd of nearly 100 watched. What a Hoot!

Regular RC program starts tonight - full schedule at www.dfrcr.com

I would like to come down for this Saturday's racing. Do you expect to have guys to run BL4300?

Do I need to bring anything like a table and chair?

Does someone usually have a tire truer at the track.

Thanks,
Pat

Pat I may go down on 10/15 to run 4300.

Hi Pat -

Sorry I didn't get to you before Saturday, I'm working an assignment in St. Louis so I'm a little out of touch.

In case you didn't go:

4300 seems to be the biggest, most competitive class at all Oval tracks right now, no difference in DBQ.
Everything you need should be there - plenty of power, chairs, tables and an air compressor. Somebody usually has a truer too.

Hey Bob.

I went down on Saturday. Not a ton of cars, but it's early and there was other stuff conflicting. The track is good and the program and is laid back. It's a good time.

I don't know about 10/15, but on 10/7 they are setting up a bigger track in a different building which might be interesting. 90'X48' I guess.

On a different note for your big track cash payout series I think you should have 2 throw outs. One of your dates conflicts with the BRL race in Greenbay and another conflicts with the BRL finale at Allen's. You won't get many guys on those dates and you'll get more overall if everyone has a chance to get in the money. Also, I wouldn't make the double points races on either of those dates.
