i found a 1970 testors gas airlpane, and have a few questions. can i use my regular glow ignitor on it?,what do i use to start this little thing? and where does the string attach to? thanks for any info

Waht kind of plane is it? That is possibly (probably) an .049 engine. The head IS the glowplug, I never had good luck getting Testors engines to start/run. It uses 1.5 vlots to the glowplug, 1 battery and a wired clip on connection. The strings should go to a bell crank that works a push/pull rod that goes to the elevator.

i had this piece of junk when i was a kid. your supposed to attach the string to the wing tip on the port side. then go in a cirle with it as it flies as you can only control pitch. :( to start it you need a giant 9V battery with a funky attachment that puts the leads on the front of the motor.
That is if its the one i'm thinking of.
