Hello ,

I have a few questions on electric rc drag car . Is there things to do to help take care of chassis and parts like bearings when i not use car for awhile ? Till i get stuff to go racing , when i not use car for a few weeks should i let the bearings soak in anything and what is best to clean chassis with ?

Iam alittle confused about taking care of the batteries too, i watched a race in GA a month or 2 ago and i seen some people use bulbs to discharge and some use trays or integy reactor discharger . I asked a few questions there and was told bulbs work ok but try to use a different discharger then use a tray to equal the cells . i try 8 and 10 , 3800 and 4200 cells and use a tekin tray . since runtime not as important as other type racing should i get something like the reactor 20 or 30 amp discharger and then tray the batteries ?
I 'm not sure what is different from using bulbs or the integy reactor , batteries for drag cars should be discharge high rate like 20 or 30 right ?
my charger ( astro 110dx ) and the tray don't discharge fast enough i was told .

Thank You ,
Jason Bowers

Jason, I am kind of supprised noone has responded to your question. Your bearings are fine as long as their clean. I have ran bearings for years and maybe cleaned them once or twice a season. But I dust them off every round during, and relube if ness. As for discharging, everyone has there on formula. I use the CE Turbo 30 or 35. I gives you the best management on you bats. I always cycle my batteries on 30A, I gives you consistant #'s and doesnt overwork the cells. Just my 2 cents worth. Kevin Stine

Jason.. sorry for not responding myself.. many others have been away at the RODS race in Fla this past weekend and those that didn't go were at the ADRL Pro MOd race at the Rock.....

I alway put a drop or two in the bearings after running them for a day of racing.. clean them and oil them and let them set till next time and hit them again with a drop of oil before using them...

I like the GOJO wipes to clean the chassis after a day of racing too.. takes the VHT off realy well....

as far as batterys go.... only one machine i know of will cycle the 8 or 10 cells packs as one item.. and thats the FUTABA charger /cycler.... most wil leave a charge in them from race to race.. when they are going drag racing they hit them down with the bulbs to get all the left over chrge out... then some will use a couple trays.. TEKIN, PRO-MATCH or who evers.. and even them out ..let them cool then recharge them...

as far as what rate of amp draw... higher is better .. but what ever you use .. use the same all the time... i do use a Indi Reactor for mine....
