View Full Version : American Graffiti
MoparNut360 08-13-2006, 08:40 PM I was in a wal mart today and spotted some motor max "american graffiti" 1/64 cars on the pegs. They had a Dodge Magnum,'40 Ford panel,'49 Mercury, and a '69 GTO Judge. Good looking castings but I don't see what they have to do with the movie.
Greyhound 08-13-2006, 11:15 PM I like those cars
They have nice detail
69Stang 08-13-2006, 11:30 PM I picked up the GTO, the scale looked good, and the overall tampo and paint were done very nice. But the VERY CHEAP plastic base just was a let down. Overall, not done as well as the FC. But I will use the wheels and tires on something.
cody4347 08-14-2006, 12:16 AM Those Cars Minus The Real Ryder Type Tires And Paint Jobs Are 2 Cars For .99 Cars At Walgreens
stupidsquirrels 08-17-2006, 11:21 AM Ilike the wheels on the GTO, but not enough to drop $2.97 on it, IMHO the casting on the 1:64 cars are extremely cheap and cheesy looking.
As previously stated in this thread, these casting are best known as 2/$1.00 cheapies.
They weren't quite $3 here. In fact, they were just under $2. I picked up the '40 Delivery and the '49 Merc (the flames are pretty cool). The wife liked the GTO, so it came home with us too. We also picked up a could 1:87 sets of a vehicle pulling a little travel trailer. Not my usual scale and not Motormax, but they were just too cool to pass up for $3. All in all, some cool little cars showing up during this WM toy reset!
1up
RobDog 08-29-2006, 08:50 PM I didn't think they looked that bad.
The metallic, red 49 Merc had a decent flame job,the 69 Judge actually had detail that other companies have omitted,ie hood tachs.
The blue panel could be better but it fit well with my blwf theme.
in a worst case scenario;the rims and tires could be salvaged for great customs,or the cars themselves could use upgraded wheels..
JP2-NC-JL-CRAZY 08-31-2006, 08:21 PM I saw these this afternoon. Wasn't impressed enough to buy them though.
JP2
I have been searching for this one even before MotorMax released the American Graffiti line.

Superior to the Hot Wheels versions in its wheels, realistic color interior and clear windows. I like the painted bumpers rather than chrome plastic.
sschevyman1 10-05-2006, 11:50 AM I just found out that mine has a smudge mark on the door ruining the stripe on the right side. AARGGG!!!!!!
FLOYDFROG 10-05-2006, 06:33 PM I picked up the GTO the other day. IMO it's not a bad car for $1.97.
eyecandy 10-06-2006, 12:47 AM I've seen these...not too bad looking, just not anything hat I collect
