Update: Spoke with a friend who owns an aftermarket decal company, and will be sending him a set of model-scaled plans to work up a decal sheet for the modules. Also working with another company on the possiblity of adapting his starship kit light-systems for the modules; more later when I get word. Meantime, I'm already pumping out sets for orders that have already come in; so much for formal release announcements. Will finish module buildups and get some photos on-line when I get a little more time.
PerfesserCoffee 09-08-2006, 10:11 PM Looking forward to seeing your progress!
In light of the huge response to the $175.00 three-module set special, I'm extending the offer past the Sept. 8 deadline. Got a handle on all the orders recieved already, and probaly have some buildup photos up by the weekend. More soon about a lighting-system, but there will be one available for the above special, and for individual modules.

Added some photos and scanner images (the scanner allows much better imaging of the detail parts); this is the current Version II special, and displays all the various module parts. Go to the links below, or use the scrollbar in upper lefthand corner of the webpages. All the parts shown are common between the Version I and Version II modules; the armature-parts aren't shown in these new pictures since I already have detailed photos of those on my website.

Reworked the eng. hull and nacelle risers to ease the drawdown of the plastic during vacforming, and modified the following detail parts:
Added more detail to the shuttlecraft (now three parts, nacelles on a separate runner) including hatch, window, and impulse engine detail.
Refined the detail on the bridge module, impulse engine, and the eng. hull foresection-plates, and built up the plate-edges to hold these more securely inside the VF hull-halves. Re-contoured the nacelle end-caps and modified the bussard-cap main-sections with inner 'reflector' section.
"Captain's Log, StarDate 2270.3.....We are a weary ship. Intelligence reports continue reaching Enterprise of Romulans amassing forces beyond the Neutral Zone. A brief yet thorough upgrade of Enterprise has been put to the test in the last several months: the Klingons, restrained by the Organian Treaty from overt hostilities, have supported an immense Romulan military buildup. Violent forays into the Federation, launched from the Neutral Zone and undoubtedly Romulan ships fitted with improved cloaking devices, have led StarFleet Command to bolster a stern presence. Enterprise has been at the center of every engagement. Those few suspected Romulan ships that haven't evaded destruction, in turn self-destructed to avoid identification. It is only a matter of time before the Romulans decide that StarFleet may be weakened enough by the constant incursions to unleash their juggernaut.

"Chief Engineer's Log.....To counter the loss of half the Constituion cruisers in StarFleet service since the beginning of our five-year mission in 2266, Enterprise was put through a rapid upgrade, adding phaser and photon torpedo emplacements, and a radical armoring of the hull utilizing neutronium foils 'skinned' from the hull of the Doomsday Machine, a procedure crafted by Commander Spock and successfully rendered by StarFleet's Corp of Engineers. A new warp-engine - developed from data collected by Enterprise during several alien encounters which upgraded the ship's propulsion system - now capably delivers Warp 11

Model spraybombed with Duplicolor Pewter and Light Blue metallics, with Krylon clears for finish. Lettering is from the Polar Lights Enterprise kit and Greywolf decal sheets. The pennants were cut from Goldberg trimsheet. The windows, sensor domes, and clear nacelle domes were painted with acrylics mixed with glow-medium. Gridlines drawn in with ink pens. Still have some cleanup work ahead with the painted detail; this was as far as the model was completed on Oct. 13 for a local contest, and putting it aside for awhile since some other projects need to be finalized.
PerfesserCoffee 10-15-2007, 10:01 AM SUPER COOL PAINT JOB!
Great 'tweener interpolation there!
I also like the inclusion of blue on the hull and the various style windows and grid lines.
If you look at the Doomsday Machine, you'll notice it's primarily this approximate shade of blue overall, so I just went with the idea that this was a denser material - and harder to work, which meant not the entire ship could be sheathed with it - and would be applied to protect the ship from a frontal attack (looking directly at the bow, most of the critical areas are protected this way).

Some composite photos (the F-104 is the 1/18 21st Century model straight from the box; one of these days intend to work it over as Christopher's A/C complete with new markings).
WarpCore Breach 02-10-2008, 01:00 PM Awesome pics, Orne!!
