My 1/32 track was put on the shelf for about 5 months and when I set up again, the cars slide off the track at low speeds. Prior to that the cars would go around the track at nearly full throttle. Any ideas?

Have you cleaned the track & the tires? When the tires pick up dust, they will slide pretty easily.

Get out your dust rag and see if that helps. Not sure about the 1/32 track, but on my HO I 've used WD-40 after dusting to give the track a good cleaning. Spray on a clean lint free rag and apply lighty, then take another LF rag and wipe off excess. Has helped me recover some of the old Aurora L&J track with great results. Might want to experiment on a single piece of track before you hit the full layout. rr

I'll do some cleaning over the weekend. Thanks for the response.

another thing that is good for cleaning track and tires is simple green like wd just spray it on the rag and wipe the track down then wipe with a clean rag now for the tires just put some on the rag and roll your tires threw it it works a lot better then masking tape cause the sticky gets on the tires from the tape and it picks up everything depending on the dust and stuff in the air floating around you might not can make a three min heat before your tires get slick again
