I was looking around at Wallyworld the other night checking out the various diecast. Nothing new in any brand except Jada and it was just a bunch of Donks :p However, I found this sitting on top of some 1:24 BTM's right below the Donks. I went ahead and grabbed simply because I really like the truck. But, it looks like this may have been a promo car? or other event car? Or maybe just an old release that was dug up in the back? It was the only one around and I looked all over for any more. Anyone know anything about this truck?

Thats a regular wave 12 issue and quite common, but the deco and inserted card has lead a lot of folks to mistake it for a promo. Jada can be weird. I suspect its a kind of advertising/product placement.
BTW, its also a replica of a real 56 Ford on the show circuit.

Thanks SS! I figured since it had the series #'s on the card, it was a regular run, just had never even seen one before. I bleed blue, so this one was a must, especially since this is one of my my favorite fords

Jada has done that before with other lines. I remember a MR2 Spyder that looked like a promo, and I know theres more.
I have to say, the 56 PU is one of my favorite Fords. When I was a kid, I cherished the Hot Wheels 56 with the 2 scooters in the bed.

What ever they called it, it was sweet! A few years ago I got me the HW REAL RIDERS version. Man I love that car!

Jada Toys was one of the sponsors for the California Truck Jamboree 2005. The Flyer for event as well as the card on that truck was designed by Jada Toys designer Luis Tanahara. Jada even had a both at the show. Ironically that particular truck failed to show up for the event :freak:
For the second run of that Jada truck the card was replaced with the more standard e-sheet style. This is a picture of the Jada Booth during the CTJ 2005
