View Full Version : will these parts actually increase performance? Montoya1 08-09-2006, 01:53 AM I would think that you would also need silver plated pick up shoes and silver contacts on the bulkhead to take full effect... Granted. But was the original plating removed before the silver was applied? If not I can't see any gain... dw smokinHOs 08-09-2006, 03:28 PM Mr Montoya1, yes silver and gold plated electricals will help your cars performance. Problem is that most people miss another part of their set-up when racing to miss the difference. Not to mention, it seems to go without fail that once I get a SG+ or G3 rolling and go to swap electricals it upsets the car. Why, I don't know- Murphy's law I guess. I would recommend that if you plan to build a car up and want to "opportunity" for optimal performance, especially a custom or aftermarket arm, going to silver or gold on shoes, springs, hangers, and bulk heads is the way to go. If there was no performance gain, there would not be a difference in rules between the various classes in the major HO associations. Hope this helps... vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
