View Full Version : TRACTORS by Malibu Int'l...
olesarge90 08-03-2006, 03:06 PM Well, I went on a semi road trip today to the far reaching corner of Northeast Texas; about 105 miles round trip. While gone, I stop at a Wally, old one about to remodel, in a small town of Mt. Pleasant. I ran across these new to me tractors made by Malibu International. Sorry for the bad scans but as you may know the camera is on a vacation of sorts. They are blue, red, white and brown in color with what appears to be RR tires. I can’t say for sure the scale as they are not marked.

eyecandy 08-03-2006, 10:26 PM !!!!!!!!!! I need these!!!!!!!!!
grayhouse 08-03-2006, 11:31 PM I don't really collect semi's but I couldn't resist picking up a few at my local WM the other day. I belive the're 1/87th scale and pretty nice quality too. They don't look big enough to be 64th next to my JL's. I mainly got them for the parts...such as side mirrors and the tires and wheels will work well on 64th trucks...oh yes, they come with pretty nice display cases too. For less than 2 bucks a pop I think I'll pick up a few more this weekend.
olesarge90 08-04-2006, 12:33 AM grayhouse,
I wish that I had seen them where you bought yours, I paid almost $4.00 each. Oh well, I wanted them and I got them. I will pull out the 1:87 car and the tractor and scan a comparison tomorrow.

The price kinda surprised me as well. The shelf where they sat was marked at a $1.97 Sure enough at the desk thats what they scaned at. They must have been marked down if you payed almost 4 bucks for yours. For that price I'll see about pickin up a bunch more this weekend. They had a couple dozen of 'em so I'll keep my fingers crossed that they'll still have some left. They make some really cool car and camper trailer sets as well, but my WM didn't have any :(
TableTopTrucker 09-13-2006, 11:58 PM Got these two at Wally's today. priced at $3.97 (oddly seemed like i was paying a Kmart price)
Im thinking that the scale is close to 1/87, but I am really confused as to what Model and make they truely are suppose to be? The Brown one looks to be a International, but the Red one looks to be more Kenworth or Peterbilt.
Anyone know for sure?

TableTopTrucker 09-14-2006, 08:50 PM If this is the same red one you have, its for sure not a T-600, but more likely a T-2000

eyecandy 09-14-2006, 09:16 PM I'll post pics of the fleet in the next couple days
THat red one is a T-600, the t-2000 has the round headlites that look like they're in the bumper, looks more like a Freightliner Century
eyecandy 09-15-2006, 11:08 PM Sorry for the blurry shots, camerea was being un-cooperative.

I dug thru some boxes to find some of my older 1/87 HO scale trucks
from left to right
Herpa Ford LN 9000
Herpa Mack
Malibu Freightliner Columbia w 45 foot dry van
Atheran Freightliner cabover
Its to bad I have phased out modeling in HO scale and moved to 1:29 Garden scale, the Malibu trucks would look awesome in a large intermodel facility... Im sure the Modern era HO'ers are going nuts with these now, when it comes to vehicles, you can never have to many varitys availible to you.
