This may have had something to do with it...
This is the first time I have ever seen this line in a auction confirmation...
If you want to mail your payment, please send it and include a copy of this email to:[Payment address not on file with eBay]

as a seller, this has happened to me. After contacting ebay, it seemed my account was hacked into. So, I had to confirm who I was and change all my passwords. Then re-list everything. All my auctions that I bid on or was selling someting on, were shut down. Very big hassle to restore. Because of some hacker, I had to do the work and try to restore my reputation all over again. This happens (getting hacked) when you get a question about an auction and reply to it. Usually an overseas source. All you can do is add ebays toolbar and answer questions only through that. Hope this helps.

Spoof mail is on the rise. I have had two in the last month. Looked like e-bay sending it but it wasn't. Got to be careful. If it seems strange it is probably spoof mail. Turn it in. Don't give out your login to a page from one of these messages. Pinging is another problem as well. This is done by someone near you. They are able to tell when you log on and obtain data thru hacking that could lead to ID theft. Be safe and change your passwords from time to time, don't give out any information. T-Jet Man

Seems like I get several spoof emails in a short time, turn them in, then none for several months. Whenever I get a spoof, or a notice that one of my relatives was killed in a car wreck in Africa and I need to settle the estate, I either reply in something that looks sort of like Spanish, or I leave a contact phone number at the local federal building. I tell them to ask for Mr Marshall....
