Welcome to the new generation of Lightspeed. We are officially open! We will still offer the same great products and service as before. But you guys asked for some new stuff and had some ideas so we listened. First off some introductions. Ron Gustin is the new owner. Glad to be with you Ron. Secondly is Jeremy Cupps. He is the president of Lightspeed. Jeremy had been working closely with Mark for years. Chances are if you bought a motor he probably built it. Finally there is me, Matt Bayless. As most everyone knows, I've ran for and been a spokesman for Lightspeed for the last 5 years. And thankfully, I was asked to continue in this role.

New Ideas

A new online hobbyshop so you can buy from where you are at right now. It is to be launched in the next couple of weeks. More details to follow. More one on one attention if you got questions you can email me dirctly at prorod@yahoo.com or just post here .

This weekends test went perfect the new stock motor was the fastest motor there i could pull about three car lenghts on anyone at the track. I believe for a fast flowing track the comet(x-stock) iis the motor to have. The lightspeed cobalt 2 based mod engine is a monster, i ran a 8 double and was pasing nitro cars down the straights. It never faded at the end of a five min run either, this motor was as fast at the end as it was at the start and it was over a 100 out side. Then i put in a seven turn single and let me tell you this was the fastest electric car ive ever drivin, it did not fade either. I think epic has a big surprise for the other companys out there, because this motor is awsome. The batteries were perfect to, we have a new voltage increasing method that does not hurt the batteries but does increase the voltage. I had over three minutes of juice left in one that i ran a 19 spec motor on. Now thats some juice. Thank you Jeremy Cupps

Hey Matt iam glad you like the motor and i know your gonna be fast with it. I build all the motors that lightspeed sells the same way that we would run them. Built for racers by racers thats the moto! And i realy think everyone will enjoy the horsepower our motors have, wheather its a beginer or the diehard racer. Thank you Jeremy Cupps

Hey Jeremy,

LONG LONG TIME since we last spoke. I think it was back in the early 90's at the Indoor Track when you, your dad, and myself were running fullbody before the track closed.

Congrats on your new ownership, as I hope things go as well for you as they did for Mark.

Shout at ya later and glad to hear a blast from the past!

Team Lightspeed had another strong weekend this past week. We took the stock sedan class bye a lap and we took the 1/12th scale bye 2 laps with the new comet stock motor, it seems ive found a combo for this engine we have had good results in just about every class they have entered. It was also the first weekend my guys got to use the new worlds battery and everyone was pleased. I just wanted to keep everyone updated with the progress with the New Lightspeed, and to wish everyone that is running our goodies good luck. Jeremy

I would like to welcome back Steve Eaves to team lightspeed . He ran a few years ago for us and has come home . I am putting together an oval race team, and I need several drivers . You must first and foremost have a good attitude towards all who race . Secondly, you must do some traveling . We plan on going to some big events and being really involved and helping anybody who needs help at any event . Thirdly I need to stay informed of your racing . Let me know how things are going with product performance, your performance , and what you hear in the pits . Anybody interested in being part of the oval team please email a quick resume (nothing fancy) and please include at least 2 references of people you race with or deal with in rc . Please email me at prorod@yahoo.com in the heading use the keyword lightspeed .

Hi Matt,

My son got an email from you recently, in reply to one he sent...We'll try to give you a call soon...(I've been pretty hectic the past couple weeks)

We're going, going, going it seems until the first part of December. Between finishing up our SWTour series, and attending other peoples events...our "Big One" will be the Northern Calif. 2 day Carpet race in Stockton (JPHRacing.com Oval Shootout) Can't wait...my son will get his first ride in his NEW KSG genII car, and in 1/12th scale. (it'll probably be ugly..cause we suck at Carpet...but can't wait anyway)

We are having a contest! its on other forums so the first right answer gets the prize! When did lightspeed win its first national championship, what year and track! thats it the first right answer gets it! The prize is a IB4200 battery and if you can guess what car was used and who the driver was i will include a tuned comet stock motor! Good luck this is a hard one!

Well we have a winner for the free battery, but im going to tell you guys who, what and were all this took place. In 1989 at the indoor track in Fort Worth Texas Todd Fox Tqed and won the us roar national championship using Lightspeed Products, a custom works dominator that was highly modified. It had titanium parts on it that you had to have custom made at that time. I still have this car and it hasnt been drove in almost ten years!
