View Full Version : Protoform Hd Monte Carlo GILYHANTREE 07-27-2006, 01:40 PM Is It Legal For The Nats Or Not EAMotorsports 07-27-2006, 10:09 PM YES it is legal. EA EAMotorsports 07-28-2006, 01:11 PM Mike Queller told Dale Epp via Email a few weeks back that the Protoform HD Monte Carlo WAS legal for the Nationals...Now I understand he is going back on those words. Maybe he will come on here and answer or someone from the Oval Committee can give a final answer and stop all the guess work. EA hacksaw 07-29-2006, 11:30 AM And ROAR wonders why racers don't want to join and be a part of BULL CRAP like this!!!!!!This body is the same body it has been since it came out and any body that has any smarts at all can look at it and see that!!!!!!!Hacksaw davepull 07-29-2006, 11:43 AM just check the roar site and saw these 2 bodies on the approved list. 1/10 NEXTEL CUP PROTOFORM 1224 11-8-2007 MD intrepid 1/10 NEXTEL CUP PROTOFORM 1225 1-10-2009 HD charger So what's the deal with the HD monte carlo from Protoform??????? there will be alot of mad people because that is only the most popular body in the country!!!!!!! Humpty 07-29-2006, 03:12 PM Mike Changing his mind is nothing new....Spent a week with him at offroad nats..... rush&sonrc 07-30-2006, 11:51 AM Roar oval nats in less than 2 weeks, kind of need an answer as to know which bodies to stock up on hacksaw 07-30-2006, 12:29 PM Hey Kent if you find out any thing on this body thing call me so I can start painting!!!!!!!Hacksaw GILYHANTREE 07-30-2006, 01:08 PM i wasn't trying to start anything .i was told in march it wouldn't be legal and this was my body of choice so. i was just hoping to get a answer for all of us.i have went to other bodys but we all know this is a great oval body!!!!!!! hacksaw 07-30-2006, 05:50 PM I no what you mean Brandon I may run it any way and just let them DQ me maybe it will make them feel better!!!!!!! Hacksaw GILYHANTREE 07-30-2006, 08:28 PM I no what you mean Brandon I may run it any way and just let them DQ me maybe it will make them feel better!!!!!!! Hacksawi don't see what the big deal is if it was approved .it should still be good to go. hey just an idea if the majority of that class shows up with that body what would happen??? it's not like we have been given a answer for certain and it is less than 2 weeks away!!!! EAMotorsports 07-31-2006, 12:31 AM And we wonder why Oval racing has dropped off? The race is 2 weeks away and no one from the Oval commitee can even take the time to respond here. How can you allow a body at one national (carpet nats) and not allow it at another? I know of other manufactures bodies that were allowed at the Carpet nats but were not on the approved list.... On well.....maybe someone will step up and make it right...... EA Dawn Sanchez 07-31-2006, 03:57 PM ROAR ANNOUNCEMENTS7/27/06 Upcoming Paved Oval Nationals Info Questions raised by competitors regarding the legality of the Protoform 1223 body have been settled. Protoform has submitted a body which has the part number molded into the appropriate area. Many of the racers have unfortunately already purchased previous versions which do not have the required number addition. In the interest of fairness and since these bodies have been in use at the Nats for the past three years, the racers should not and will not be penalized. The unnumbered 1223 body will be allowed for this race only but no other ROAR National events in the future. And, just to let you know.... in 2002, the rule book was clear about marking the windshields with numbers. We didn't enforce this in full until 2004. A simple read of the rule book would have cleared up this confusion and it would be nice if folks weren't so harsh and attempted to understand ROAR needs to and will follow published rules for the fairness of ALL members. Thank you. I hope this discussion has ended and questions are resolved. GILYHANTREE 07-31-2006, 06:24 PM I do agree we need to go by the rules.but some of them are a little much on certain things. but as long as people will answer the racers questions we can all live with the rules that have been made.you are the only person that can ever give a answer so that is why i posted here i figured we would get a answer faster.
