View Full Version : Dirt Oval in Indianapolis
theboss0 07-27-2006, 11:09 AM Just letting everyone interested, Indy Slots South is working on a high bank dirt oval track. The owner has worked hard on this track and is hoping for a large turnout to play on this track. The track is a tad rough at this point, but will continue to be worked on to smooth it out. The oval is about 50'x20' or so.
Any questions, let me know, and I will try to get some more info.
WhirlinGraphics 07-27-2006, 09:20 PM Kinda late in the warm weather season to get something started? It does bring back great memories of the Mooresville R/C Hobby high banked dirt oval that we ran on Friday nights under the lights. I might have to come over and check it out.

Yeah, is kindof late to be starting it. Parking lot temp circuit wasn't working out at all this summer, so Doug (the owner) just decided to do it. Figured if he got it in this summer/fall, then the dirt can settle over the winter and be really ready for next spring/summer. But he is willing to have races the rest of this year if the interest is there.
It might be worth while to swing by if you are near town. Indy Slots South is just south of Thompson on Emerson (corner of strip mall, just south of Speedway gas station) Ask to talk to Doug, he is there most of the time.
huffrcman 07-28-2006, 03:10 PM Moss probably has one of them bodies that fit on a RC10 with the wing kit.
nickcacc 07-28-2006, 03:56 PM I'm sure our classy Dr. has a Big Boy's Toy sprint car, don't you Jerri ?
merich401 07-28-2006, 06:43 PM Did Moss buy that from Big Boy's Hobbies?
Sonny B 07-28-2006, 08:51 PM Nick drop me an e-mail when you get a chance.

huffrcman 07-30-2006, 09:04 AM Bring it to M&M and play with us Jerri, they are running 19 turns in them.
theboss0 07-31-2006, 11:57 AM Glad to see you guys are reading the posts, but please don't hijack the thread for your own conversations. I am trying to get the word out about a new dirt track, that I would love to see alot of cars on.
Thanks for understanding.
smokefan 07-31-2006, 01:25 PM A good way to get the racers to show up is travel up the road to Lafayette and talk to the guys at M&M. You haven't stated what day you race either? That would be helpful info. What are your rules..what classes do you run......

i would agree with Jerry maybe if we knew a little more about the track we would show some interest. What is the runline? what tires are allowed? Are you running EDM's, trucks, sprints???
theboss0 07-31-2006, 02:08 PM Thanks for the imput, guys, I am new about posting on here are you can see, and also new to trying to help "promote" this track. I didn't mean any harsh words, just wanted to make sure I was doing what I could.
The track is brand new and about 50' x 30' (not sure of the drive line as it hasn't really been ran in yet. Doug is very willing to run anything on the oval track. He has not spec'd any tired or anything like that. He is kind of putting together just 'bring 'em and race 'em' things for the rest of this year. With imput from the racers, he will see where the oval takes off for next year.
I know he is very interested in 1/10 Sprint cars, but not many people that normally frequent Indy Slots has those. I personally have a Mini-t, that i am going to slap a late model body onto, and hopefully run a few races.
Feel free to call Indy Slots South (317.787.7568) and talk to Doug. He can fill you in on what he is thinking up to this point, or you can offer additional advice.
Thanks again,
Kevin B
