Hello all, Looking for a little insight here to my problem. I have a briggs 25 OHV 25HP vertical shaft V-twin with 250 hours that has started to sputter. I have cleaned the carborator, changed spark plugs with new ones, oil level is OK, cleaned air filter. It idles really good but when I put a load on the motor (turn on the mower deck) it is then that the sputtering begins. It's a radom sputter. Valves? Adjustments? Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

if it has 250 on it, sounds like the valve springs could be getting "weak"
Do you think a valve or valve seat could have a spot on it that could cause a sputter like this?

Have you adjusted the valves lately? 250 hours shouldn't weaken the springs
No I haven't adjusted the valves. I am fairly mechanically inclined and would appreciate a little tutorial if you are willing! Thanks.
