NEW YORK(AP) Christie Brinkley's estranged husband has been silent about recent reports that he had an affair with an 18-year-old employee while married to the supermodel. Now his reportedly desperate apology is receiving a very public airing.

"This is an aberration," Peter Cook, 47, said through a lawyer, according to a column by Cindy Adams published Tuesday in the New York Post. "I'm sorry. I'm contrite. I'm stupid. Foolish. No excuse."

I didn't realize that Cook had remarried. I thought that he was still grieving over the loss of Dudley Moore.

I Googled "Peter Cook age"....and the first entry was this: Peter Cook (http://www.google.com/url?q=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter+Cook&sa=X&oi=answers&ct=result) — Date of Birth: 17 November 1937

Somewhere along the line...he started counting backwards.

I never understood this. You're married to a gorgeous woman, and no, beauty isn't everything, but it's Christie %!@#$ Brinkley! She had a long marriage to Billy Joel  and by all implications she was devoted to Cook. So that tells me she's likes longterm relationships (her second joke of a marriage notwithstanding) and that she's not some psycho-babe who drains the energy out of you. So... What more could you possibly want?

Other, frankly for a lack of a better word, idiot men:

David Justice (Halle Berry)
Hugh Grant (Liz Hurley)

Any others?

Come on, we all know that with men, it's not about young or old, pretty or not-so-pretty, tall or short, voluptuous or skinny, white, black, yellow or brown — it's about DIFFERENT! Hugh Grant had Liz Hurley, for Christ's sake, and he paid a streetwalker $50 to, uh, perform a certain service in his car. For another hundred bucks, he could have gotten a hotel room — or a better-looking hooker!I Googled "Peter Cook age"....and the first entry was this: Peter Cook (http://www.google.com/url?q=http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter+Cook&sa=X&oi=answers&ct=result) — Date of Birth: 17 November 1937

Somewhere along the line...he started counting backwards. That's a link to Wikipedia's article on Peter Cook the comedian. There are apparently two architects named Peter Cook. One of them is British and was born in 1936, and the other is the (probably soon to be ex-) husband of Christie Brinkley.

Or am I just confused? Will the real Peter Cook please stand up?

I guess I didn't research this too well. Since yamahog posted a picture of Peter Cook the comedian, I assumed that was who Christie Brinkley had married. I'd never heard of the architect(s) with that name. I guess I haven't watched enough Entertainment Tonight!

I wonder what the secret of his success with women is?

"On November 10, 1982, Peter was arrested when he sold a quantity of cocaine to an undercover police officer. Peter spent that first night in jail and was released the next day on his own recognizance."

I saw the "19 year-old" he had the affair with on some "news" show. She ain't nothin' special. I think scotpens got it right. Some guys think it's their privilage to stick it wherever they want to regardless of the circumstances. And the fact that Cook and Brinkley have had 8 marriages between them should tell you something. Some people are incapable of loving anyone but themselves.

There are certain biological urges that are more prevalent in some people, usually men. More prevalent than, say, commitment.

It would be a pretty neat trick for Ms. Brinkley to have married the comedian-actor in 1996, since he died in January 1995!

Anyway, anybody who actually cares about the love lives, marriages and divorces of celebrities needs to GET A FRIGGIN’ LIFE! :p
