/? whats the best for pulling tractors ,gocarts.snowblowers and every day use garden tractors, snow plowing, mowing,and hauling wood in a cart.like to know what others think ? me well im fond of old cast iron engines b&s techumseh ,koler ,,all good but what is the best strongest in all aplications ??? and reply

I like briggs. They run strong, very dependable and cheap to work on.

have moter has a gear reduction and 8 hp brigs square gas tank can i find out what it really is with no numbers ,cant find any yet anyway

having pulled apart and rebuilt a lot of briggs motors i would stay away from a new style briggs as they have gone cheap and nasty on there motors, if you can afford a new motor i would by a honda GX series motor, second choice would be a Kawasaki.

Bugman I'm a Briggs man myself.
My last repair job was replacing a bent crankshaft in a Model 125K02 dated 2003
I was a little supprised to see a nylon camshaft.
When did they start that?

Have no idea..... but the big thing about them.... sure they are cheap (the cams) but they cut down on drag and wear vs a steel one.
