i have a sears ridingmower 15.5 briggs motor about 4 or 5 years old and its just pouring gas out the carb its one of the newer mowers with the electric choke at the bottom of the carb bowl what could be wrong its just now started giving problems the last few weeks i,ve had to pour gas in the carb to get it started now the gas wont shut off any ideas

take bowl off the bottom and see if the float is stuck if it is then work it by hand GENTLY and see if it wont free up down lets gas in tto run up shuts off the flow like the ball in a tolet tank very common after sitting over the winter with fuel better to run dry each fall ,said it just started to do this makes me think its the float sure thing let us know keep postin

That thing at the bottom of the carb isn't the choke, its a fuel shutoff solenoid (antibackfire really)
I'd bet its either stuck, or its full of gas and sinking.
