Stumbled accross this forum... brought back some memories.

I have always wondered what happened to the many regulars at my Dad's (Bill Lee) track, Fox Hill in Wakefield, MA.
Or even as far back as the Rollerskating Rink days... Remember that?

Anyway,
Would be nice to hear from any of you,

Liz

Dad is actually living out in Denver right now.
He just moved out there a couple of months ago after 9 years in Florida.

We kinda stopped racing when we made the move to Florida as it was hard to find tracks in the Tampa Bay area.

Wakefield, I only went 1 time, and it was my first big race, but I loved it.

There are still many of us racing these days. Carissa, Seigal, Caman, and a couple made a comeback recently after a 10 year break. Rudy, the Warren Strongs, and the infamous Bob Trigger are done as far as I know.

Not 100% correct, more to follow in the coming months........

No I am Bob P. I had just started racing when Fox hill was in its heyday. My first big race was at fox hill (only wide car there, they are narrow now),during my final practice run ,remember Quad Jones?, turned on his radio and my car went full steam into the wall at the end of the back straight. It took a couple of guys to pull it out of the wall. I straight went over to Quads pit, and thanked him for the use of his car for the rest of the event. It ran really well and I think I made the top of the B first race. We still laugh about the antics of trigger. Those were the days. We all really miss that track.

Stongs making a comeback?? HMMM, we'll have to hook him up with a RIP car!
After racing every week since fox hill I still have not seen a better stock class racer than Warren Jr., hope its him.

Yea back in the day'
We were spoiled by the choice of venue we had. Fox Hill in Wakefield, Hobby etc in Nashua, Jim's in Medway, K/N at Stafford or the bull ring down in Conventry. All banked and fast and within 1 hours drive from my house. Came back this year after my real racing hiatus and it is still big fun just miss the selection of tracks.

Fox Hill was fun back in the day. Never forget showing up the first time and seeing a right handed downhill dog leg in the front straight.
The second track was awesome just a shear power track and no dog leg.

Bob,
Did you ever race at West Street Hobbies? The strangest banked track I ever saw. The thing was paper clip and it had the same steep banking all the way around the track. It was impossible to run on.

Did Bob ever run West St? LoL He used to be a fixture there. I ran there weekly myself before my hiatus.

Quite the contrary as far as the track goes, very runable. You would be surprised at the quality of races we had there. Another great thing was Jim usually had everything instock and the place was AC'ed.

Yes, I raced there twice a week for 2 or 3 years! Basically tower hobbies in a store, ANYTHING you needed was in stock on the shelf even the trick stuff.

Fox Hill, coventry, west street,K/N, plainville all banked tracks about 1 hours drive, those were the days. A lot of laps on the banks.

Plainville, probably my all time favorite oval track. I'd love to see how fast the cars would be there now with today's motor and batteries.
