It kills me! Okay, I know that Trek fans are some of the most rabid in the world, but releasing a teaser poster two years in advance?!?! Great Halls of Gre'thor!!

That's about as bad as releasing the Transformers trailer a full year before anything even comes out of their computers!!

Though rightly, they couldn't actually put out any real image, as no one's been cast & nothing has been done but a vague half an outline. But still... two years?!

Relax guys, the image posted is not the teaser. It's simply a generic merchandizing graphic put out to generate some initial online buzz, i.e. Paramount's way of saying "It's official, it's happening, the rumors you've heard are true," etc.

The real ad campaign won't begin until next summer -- at the absolute earliest.

You mean this one?

http://www.christies.com/special_sites/startrek/overview.asp

What really boggles me is the fact that they're selling some of the hero models!

Enterprise A?
Deep Space Nine??
Mushroom Spacedock???
The six foot Enterprise D????

I'm just floored at this!!

Okay, models aside, there are some reasonably priced things I'd love to have! The Workbee model, the glass table, Klingon desk, photon torpedo, horga'hn, Picard's flute...

They can do a lot of selling at a three day auction. :(

Those of you that know me know that I am a fan of all things Star Treck. I attended one of those auctions a few year's back and was lucky enough to purchase Dr. Spock's tricorder:

We also purchased Mr. Sulu's uniform. Here, my S/O has been caught wearing the priceless piece, much to my chagrin:

And timely too... There's a seller on eBay! (http://www.jdoqocy.com/click-1606754-2202639) http://www.awltovhc.com/image-1606754-2202639! http://www.awltovhc.com/image-1606754-2202639 right now selling total junk labeled Star Trek prop, but it's real because it comes with a COA purchased at Comp USA and signed by an individual who owns a company that doesn't exist. Seriously ! I'm not making this up. If anyone on this board recognizes any of the items as a genuine Star Trek prop... Please let me know... Until then..... hours of enjoyment and incredulity as bidders vie for Ikea water pitchers and cheap costume jewelry....

right now selling total junk labeled Star Trek prop, but it's real because it comes with a COA Yes, thank goodness for the COA, otherwise I'd have never recognized this prop as legit. As a matter of fact, here's the Official Certificate of Authenticity that came with it, identifying it as an authentic Star Treck article:
