Would it be stupid to put a 16 horse briggs on a go-cart??? It would weigh a lot, but i don't care.

it would not be stupid ,it sounds like fun. however remember al stock engines run the same rpm 3500. so there is no speed increase. but with your new found power you have more options to reduce the gear ratio and ad speed that way. if the clutch will handle it .
