hmmmm i am very confuesd. you should have no problem finding battereries. but what i want to know is. this dukes of hazards car you talk about is it hobby grade. because i have never seen it in any of the rc magazines. because if it is hobby grade you can go down to your lhs and pick up a pack for the car. but if it runs off aa's then you can still get rechargables. but if it uses a battery pack that is not sub c size cells it may be aa'cells wired togeather. if this is what you need i would advise going down to battereis plus or some similar store and asking them to build you up a pack because i advise not soldering these types of cells togeather and when they attach the cells they use spot welding wich barely heats up the ends of the cell. then tell them to shrink wrap it and put leads on it then when you get home just put whatever type plug it needs on the leads and you should be ready to go
HOPE THIS HELPS
