Do your non-R/C racing friends think your silly for playing with toy cars? Even though they probably don't know or understand the complexity of many of the true race cars we run?

Just like any other Hobby.. Unless there is an interest by someone new OR a good demonstration by knowledgable hobbiest... there is not much respect.
No different that someone that is not into Fishing or Golf... Why would you sit in a boat all day or chase a little ball around all day or spend this money for this pole or that club... You get my point.
Knowledge bolsters some repect. So don't just run your cars or just race... Show them off!!! Show off the detail. the quality, the technology, the speed. Show them to coworkers, neighbors, family and friends. Let them drive a car or truck.. and see that it is not as easy as it looks!!
Then people will appreciate what you are involved in and develop some respect for the hobby you have a passion for.

i love to race any r/c vehicle. i am all about racing things. but when it comes to competitive racing i am all about oval. they may not be hard to drive but tuning them to go fast is what makes them hard. but i alwas love a challenge.
