t-maxx 3.3 or savage x which truck is better? let me know :dude:

i personally like traxxas, but i think the savage is better built

Honestly, you could flip a coin and be more than happy with either one, but the savage X is a bit more durable and comes with a bigger engine

just get what ever has the most parts on the shelf at your shop. no matter what you get you will need parts!! I have never owned a savage but I have seen quite a few at the track. I think they can both be made to perform or bash equally well. they both have pros and cons so pick what ever has the most parts at your local shop.

i would go with the savage. check this, the t-maxx does not come with a rollover bar and of all of the parts to be plastic on a nitro truck the t-maxx comes with a plastic SPUR GEAR! even the newest one. the savage comes with a rollover bar and STEEL SPUR! i own a wheely king (electric), also made by hpi, and never had a problem with it. i hope this helps you out. just pointing out facts. My brother inlaw has a 5 year old Savage that's had the crap kicked out of it for the whole time he's had it....He's replaced the pipe with a tuned pipe, and put a slightly bigger clutch bell on it....it probably has 6-7 gallons thru it, and it looks like hell.....but it still starts right up and runs around....He even managed to bounce it off my LST and break both right front suspension arms....

Savages are tough....way tougher than my T-Maxx ever was....

Just like Airbus said go with the Savage!!!!! You will not regret it!!! I own 7 Savages and beat the crap out of them and they keep coming back for more, I even take it full boar off our 6ft ramp with no damage. Don't get me wrong I have had a T-maxx and they can not take the beating. Just my two cents!!!!

i have a t maxx and a savage...and a bunch of my friends have them as well. if u want a truck to bash dont even bother with t maxx. it will break over and over. the savage is indestructable, the only thing i ever replaced on it was the pull starter. my buddy spent about 1000 trying to beef up his t maxx to make it as strong as the savage, and now it weighs a ton. if u are looking for speed out of the box the maxx is very quick, but ask anyone and they will tell u that traxxas uses plastic where they should be using metal. i would also consider a losi lst2 or even the raminator(same truck). this is a very good performer as well as a basher.

I've owned both. I like Traxxas, but I don't care for their engine limitations (without mods I care not about). HPI's Savage is bigger, tougher, far better built. I had to replace various parts on the TMaxx (mostly a-arms), but I didn't have to replace anything on my Savage...not in the whole year and a half I had it. BUT Either way you go you WILL be happy with the one you get.

Traxxas T maxx is a peice of shit and i will never buy another one i would suggest mgt 8.0 OR (next thing) savage 5.9
