View Full Version : GreenLight Muscle Cars At TRU
Wyatt 07-11-2006, 10:21 AM I went to a TRU in San Diego yesterday and they had some Impalas, Mustangs, GTO's, and Camaros from Muscle Car Garage and Stock & Custom. They weren't priced and didn't scan, but an associate checked for me and they are $3.99. Better go check your local TRU and get them while they last!!
pms485 07-11-2006, 12:07 PM Outstanding news!
Good luck to GL, hopefully you guy'll dominate the diecast aisle in a few years. You're doing die-cast better than anyone else, in my opinion.
Milezone 07-11-2006, 12:17 PM You sure they had the Stock & Customs, and at $3.99? Seems early for them to arrive, and might low priced?
Russ
rlyoung1 07-11-2006, 02:57 PM At that price I might as well buy them at TRU instead of through my regular wholesale supplier.
04stangman 07-11-2006, 04:42 PM I hear that! However, I have heard that they have not been released? Go back, buy me all the stangs and I will pay you 4.99 for em!
Milezone 07-11-2006, 05:35 PM Guys, I spoke with Matt at Greenlight and he says this is only a west coast trial run for TRU, and only 4% of the line was given to them. The regular price will be $4.99 so we will all be around the same price. And when you buy sealed cases they are running for most dealers $49.99 + shipping. As well they are on thier way to dealers next week, so not much longer for the wait now. :-)
Hope that helps.
Russ

Wyatt 07-11-2006, 06:57 PM 100% sure there was a mix of Muscle Car Garage and Stock & Custom. 100% sure their computer said $3.99.
Milezone 07-11-2006, 09:06 PM Hi Wyatt,
Yes just for that small trial run. Future cost will be $4.99. Greenlight wouldn't cut us hobby guys that quick. :D
Russ
Chunkamunk04 07-11-2006, 09:18 PM At $3.99 that's a decent price for sure but like Russ said, that won't be the norm for retail pricing.
69Stang 07-12-2006, 12:01 AM Wyatt, that's good news and all.... but the big story was "What the heck you doing in San Diega?" That's a looooong way from home! Cool place aint' it. I find it beautful out there.

I love San Diego, too. I was stationed here when I was in the Navy. I'm working on a DDG for a few days. Time to hit Big Lots after work today and see what JL's I can find! I have them all mapped out already, lol!
Wyatt 07-12-2006, 08:21 PM I was in error. The cars left all Stock and Custom. Sorry for the bad info!
Dead Dude 07-13-2006, 07:45 AM 3.99 for a trial and 4.99 for the real thing?
Bait and switch.
Roy Nakamura 07-13-2006, 08:08 AM I saw them at TRU the other day. They did look good ...my TRU like Wyatt said were not price on the peg so I passed.
The set wasn't complete so I didn't buy any. The Mustang fastbacks looked great! I hope they hit Hobby soon.
STUTZ 07-15-2006, 12:52 AM Amazing that Greenlights may their way to a TRU! Too bad I'll never see them at a TRU in Pittsburgh.
mn_dodgeboy 07-15-2006, 01:28 AM This makes me wonder if I coulda bought any in Utah.

zeb41 07-23-2006, 02:14 PM Boy, that would be so cool if they would show up here. I'll have to keep my eyes open.
04stangman 07-23-2006, 04:50 PM This makes me wonder if I coulda bought any in Utah.
I think the car market here in Utah sucks! I would not plan on seeing any of these in UT for along time!
pms485 07-23-2006, 08:02 PM yeah leave it up to GL to screw us EAST COAST collectors !!!! another reason yet why i dont like the boys at GL ... for all i care they can KEEP THEIR CARS !!!!!!!
:thumbsup: Well, that's more for me!
FYI, a "test market" isn't coast to coast. That's why it's called a "test".

The location for the TRU test market was not chosen by GreenLight. GL has dealers across the US including the east coast and I will gladly point you in the right direction if you so desire.
Thanks,
-Matt

GO with GreenLight!
I recently found a dealer in my parts. Can't wait to get my hands on a that Mach 1!
I'm also looking forward to the New Muscle Car Garage releases.
rlyoung1 07-23-2006, 11:28 PM It wasn't even a full west coast test, just SoCal. :(

I'm not sure that this is true. The DC that rec'd the product services TRU locations all over California and I know that some have even been discovered as far as Phoenix, AZ.
Thanks,
-Matt
