Being a first-timer to this board, I hope this has not been covered before.

But with so many old TV series being issued on DVD, why have we not yet seen Disney's Zorro? I know Disney is real picky about their properties, but really can't think of a good reason why Guy Williams' Zorro has not yet gotten the DVD treatment.

Can anyone enlighten me?

I'm still hopeful that someday Disney might create a channel that would be similar to the "Vault Disney" block they used to run at night. Between their TV catalog and their older movies, I'll bet they have enough programming they could use to create a channel similar to Nick at Nite. The Hallmark Channel shows some of the old Disney movies, but the shows are pretty much off the air at this point.

If the legal issues get resolved, Zorro seems a natural choice for future release under the "Walt Disney Treasures" DVD banner.

Zorro is set for release, but only via Disney's Movie Club.
