These hubs will come in 3 diff colors.black, blue, and red.they are machined after anadozing, wich gives it the 2 tone look.there will be 2 left side hubs available.1/2 and 3/4 inch. The drive side hubs will be offset and standard. These hubs will be available from RIP Motorsports.they will be available soon. The hubs were tested by team guys for 2 yrs and had no problems.they are light, but strong.I attached a few picks of a set that were used for almost 2 years.

These hubs are very clean and offer not only a "bling" factor but a performance advantage as well even if its only minimal. In a hobby where we all look for an edge these should be popular. Great idae Oz!

Will they be available without anodizing? I like the polished aluminum look. How much will they cost?
Will they be sold as a set?

Three, the first120 hubs will only be available in blue, black ,or red. We can also and will do silver for the second batch which hopefully will be arround September 1st.

The hub pricing will be $28 each or $100 for a set of four with free shipping if you purchase the set of four. With so many cars now equipped with standard and off-set t-plates I think the set of four would give you the best tuneability. Of coarse we would love to sell them as a set to keep inventory even and probably will for the first month ( unless someone needs a replacement hub ). Feedback or suggestions welcome. Bill

Bill Auchterlonie

First off Kenwood "You" are not regular people,LMAO. Just kidding I couldn't help myself. These hubs are in transit to the machine shop and will hopefully be available in two weeks. They will be lightened my a master machinist/former racer and will be available to "regular no deal people",,,like yourself.
I have been racing for almost thirteen years now and think they are the neatest upgrade since the adjustable center shock mount and front locator plates. Thanks for your interest. Bill

I just got off the phone with Ozzie and we went ahead and sent five sets of silver hubs to be lightened as well. I think Bill is going to allow pre-orders after all the hubs get to the machine shop. So now that you have a heads up its up to you to jump on a set :) ( I will make sure you get the first set of silver lmk ). Bill

Im curious what the reasoning behind LW hubs is.. I use to use them back in the day, and the only thing i ever got from them was a hub that got bent faster..
I understand the whole rotating mass thing, but I cant see that minimal amount off the hubs makeing a performance difference.. plus any weight you take away you still have to add somewhere else.. But wouldnt you want the axle to keep momentum up due to its weighted speed throught the turns?? i understand light weitht will suposedly spool up faster but it also is less efficient when trying to keep it there..Look at the new stock motor designs.. the arms are gaining in weight..It seems to help keep them cooler, and more efficient..

or am i just missing it all-together, and this is just a BLING thing..

Bumbles, it's true that you have to put the weight some place else in the car, but these hubs are so much lighter it does make a difference. The biggest benefit of lighter hubs is they are easier on the diff. With Today's Ceramic bearings and diff balls, and lightweight spur gears, the less weight you are trying to rotate the more efficient your diff becomes, and you don't need as big a load on the diff as well. Most tracks, espicially in the north east, are flat tracks. The less rotating mass you have, the faster the car will come off the corner, because even the most effecient car is under extensive load in the middle of the corner, spool up is a big issue and these hubs really do work.

Sorry about Hi-jacking your thread Bill, lol. They are worth the money for the bling factor alone, but they really do work performace wise.

Just as JeffPatch29 said, it does make a difference, just like on real cars when you go to larger tires or wheels you'll slow down your acceleration. On real cars its a 10:1 ratio, meaning 1lb of sprung weight (wheel, tire, rotors, ect.) is eqaul to 10 lbs of chassis weight. So for every 1/10 oz. of sprung weight on a RC car should be eqaul to approximately removing 1 oz. off the chassis, this will make a big difference.
