Everytime I start my computor it says it will run a checkdisc if I don't push a button in 10 seconds to cancel. It never use to do this before. Does anybody have any info on this I perfer not to have to go through this everytme I start my computor. Thanks in advance for any recomendations.

Go ahead and let it do it's duty. Odds are that your system was either shut down improperly (power outage, cord yanked, power strip got stomped/kicked) or some defects came up during a routine check. Let it run it's course and then check the system logs to see what it came up with. If it thinks the partition is dirty, run a full chkdisk including a surface scan. This will take upwards of an hour to do, depending on how much data your drive has on it.

I have let it runs its course, but it does it everytime you turn the computor on. How do you do a surface clean? Thanks for your input.

open up My Computer /start/My computer, then right mouse click on Local Disk C: (your primary hard drive.) then properties. Select the tab labeled Tools, select the Check Now button, check both boxes there, then click start. The system will most likely will complain about the drive being locked, and would you like to schedule this disk check to run the next time you restart. Select Yes. Restart your system, go get a cup of coffee and watch the fur fly.
