Hi Guys  How can I remove tampos from clear plastic windows leaving them clear with no fogging or scratches?

You could try "non-acetone" based nail polish remover. I know it works well on paint work with tampos. Try it on a peice of glass from a junker car and see what it does. Good luck :)

Jada stamps tampos on a lot of the rear windows of their castings.

I remove them by wet sanding with 2000 grit and then, 4000, 8000, and finally polishing with 12000.

In some cases you can use an eraser to begin the process but you'll still have to polish the plastic wih 8000 and 12000.

Some people use toothpaste to polish plastic windows, but, you'll STILL have to finish polishing the plastic with 8000 and then 12000.

the non acetone just wipped the tampo right off...then,
fried my revell glass :freak:
I followed up with goo gone on a q-tip to resurrect the shine, then q-tipped on a coat of Future floor wax.

OK, be ready to spend some time. But Goo Gone and a strong rubbing hand will safley get the job done. It takes a bit of time, and keep refreshing the source ( I use a q-tip and keep swaping out every 90 seconds or so with a freshley dipped one) and tada!! You have a clean window.

And the best part, no floor wax or polish needed is the window is clean and in good shape to start with.

Here is an example, the pro stock below was the NHRA Larry Morgan Raysbostes (sp?) Pontiac with his name tampoed on the side windows....it now is the IHRA Pro Tree "Honest Charley Speed Parts" Grand Prix driven by ME! See it says so on the window! So it works, but it takes time!
