Okay, so it turns out that the kid is actually Supe's.
When did this happen? If, as they claim, the flick happens 6 years after Superman 2, then naturally it was when Superman and Lois went to the Fortress of Solitude. But how is it that Lois know's the kid is Supe's, but doesn't remember (yeah, I know he gave her a memory wipe at the end of 2) that he's Clark Kent.
Did he only erase the secret identity part of her memory?

Oh, and on a totally irrelevant note, does the US actually have Ford Falcons, or did the studio figure they look enough like an early Taurus that no-one would notice an Aussie Ford?

Cheers!

It probably belonged to some Mad Max fan who was converting it into an Interceptor!

2 things I noticed in the theatre.
Kal-El [Brando] says 'it will take you a thousand years to get to Earth' -so how did Superman get there and back in 5 years? And why would he go? It been a thousand years, at least.
Doesn't Lois know who she slept with and when she got pregnant?
How come those other crystals [and pieces] didn't do anything when dumped in the water?
Too much with the theme song already!

Wrong model of car sorry Philip. The Interceptor was an XB Falcon coupe, but the Taurus lookalike in Superman was an EA sedan... nice sedate family mobile with a 3.9 liter straight six.

I noticed the 1000 year/ 5 year discrepency also.

When Lois said "I've DONE Superman" and Jimmy laughed, she meant she covered him as news so I think her entire memory of the incident was erased. So she *should* have discovered she was pregnant and not have any clue who the father was (did anybody see her on Maury?).

Only after her son started to show signs of superhuman strength would she have guessed that Supes was the daddy.. she just wouldn't know the details of 'how/when'. This may also be the reason she was so angry when he left without saying goodbye and contributed to her writing the article.

The thing I wonder about is that Superman fathered this child at a time when he had been stripped of his powers, yet the child shows signs of developing those powers himself. Not really a quibble; if you buy the stuff in the first two films, I'm sure they could explain it had they wanted. Just thought it was interesting.

IIRC, the people of Krypton, a planet with a red sun, had no superhuman powers on their native world. Superman's powers are supposedly the result of the radiation of Earth's yellow sun combined with the high molecular density (or some such pseudoscientific gobbledygook) of Kryptonians. Therefore, the tendency to have super-powers (under a yellow sun, at least) is genetic and would automatically be passed to his offspring, even if he had a temporary loss of those powers at the moment Lois was impregnated. What was never adequately explained is how Supes was able to voluntarily give up his powers in the first place.

Screw it, this ain't Einsteinian physics. It's a frackin' COMIC BOOK!

Someone on another site postulated that when Superman reversed the chamber to remove the powers from the other 3, it reversed Lois' normal pregnancy into a SUPERpregnancy.

Did the baby shoot out faster than a speeding bullet?

SupermanMusical (http://thethunderchild.com/Television/Oneoffs/BirdPlaneSuperman/SupermanMusical8.html)

Sorry. I was trying to see if I could do a Hyperlink. Just experimenting. The link's not really related to this particular thread but it's a bit of a hoot nonetheless.
