Remember you showed me this?

nice find on the Yatming vette, I've got a Nissan Laurel with the same type wheels and base, I've never seen another yatming like it until you showed me that vette

And I said I had never seen one before? Well heck if I didn't find one at a yard sale last week. Mine was covered with nasty brown-gold model paint, and I decided to try a trick I learned with slot cars and soak the car in Spic-N-Span to remove the paint. Too bad I didn't think of taking "before" pictures till after the car was in the soup:

It worked wonders; but sadly, it removed the chrome from the bumpers and wheels too. Here's the finished product:

I like this thing. Nice lines. Kinda like Nissan was trying to do a fastback treatment like a late '60s Chevelle or Torino, but on a smaller car...

These Yatmings from the early days of the company are very well made usually with opening doors.I dont have any Datsuns or Toyotas yet but I do have the 66 Galaxie,70 Charger,Volvo 244,Jaguar E type and a couple of others.I would like to know the whole range but I havent found any on line catalogs or databases for these 1970s/1980s castings

I've found a site with a few good pages of info on early Yatmings, but I don't have it bookmarked. Do a Google search on the phrase "tales of toy cars" and/or the name Breithaupt...

ok, scratch that. try that site here:

I tried searching for their Yatming page just now, but their search function is very slow at the moment and my kids are screeching about something. it's there somewhere...
